Khandeshwar is one of the recently developed nodes of Navi Mumbai, and is also a railway station on the Harbour line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network.

Khandeshwar also has a Temple of Lord Shiva. Devotees from many places come here for the fair on Mahashivraatri. The city is well known for Khanda colony where most of the population resides.
