History
Liverpool FC TV (abbreviated LFC TV) is a new channel, similar to ones such as Celtic TV, Rangers TV (both of which are also operated by Setanta Sports), MUTV and Chelsea TV. Irish broadcaster Setanta Sports has signed the multi-million euro deal to secure exclusive distribution rights for Liverpool Football Club's new TV channel from September 2007, in the UK and Ireland.
Setanta declined to put a value on the three-year deal, but sources said it would be "in the low millions". This figure includes rights payments from Setanta to Liverpool, as well as payments for a package of marketing and promotional rights.
The channel is broadcast seven days a week between the hours of 10:00 UTC and 01:30 UTC, as part of the Setanta Sports package, on 16 July 2008, it switched to channel number 434 on Sky Digital from channel 448, it is not possible to receive it on its own through television, though it is also broadcast on the club's official website.
