Operation Lotus is a military operation to assist citizens in the Montérégie area in response to a formal request from the province of Quebec for assistance, following a natural disaster which affected mainly the province.[1] The Canadian Forces will try to limit the damage caused by the worst floods to occur in the valley of the Richelieu River and on Lake Champlain over the past 150 years.[2] Over 650 Canadian soldiers will participate in Operation Lotus for the next days.[3]
