Southern Reach
Southern Reach is the name of Jeff VanderMeer's 2014 trilogy of books starting with Annihilation. It's also the name of the agency that is central to the series. In 2013, it was announced that Paramount Pictures bought the movie rights for the series.[1] Annihilation was released in February 2014 while the other two novels are to be released later in 2014.[2]
Area X
In the series of the same name, Southern Reach is a secret agency that manages expeditions into an area known as Area X.[3]
