[edit]

This picture from the EPA looks much more like a diatom, by shape and color (Closterium is grass green, yet this has the golden-brown color of the Bacillariophycaea (diatoms)). Despite the reputability of this organization, I think this picture is quite misidentified... --♦♦♦Vlmastra♦♦♦ (talk) 01:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, given that the source website (http://www.epa.gov/glnpo/image/viz_nat6.html) had a number of misspelled genera and species, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was misidentified. Neil916 (Talk) 03:18, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please mention about its eye with the puny chrystals

[edit]

Its eye works as an eye. It is a primitive sensor.

Does it react to pH or electromagnetic frequencies?

answer: both

Do changes in metabolism have an impact on it?

answer: yes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:2149:8213:D600:A550:1A5A:B275:CC25 (talk) 09:37, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
