As far as my name is concerned, 69 refers to my year of birth (1969) and nou la means "We are here" in Creole and is the equivalent of Mir zaynen do (the last line of the song Zog Nit Keynmol) in Yiddish. Nou la celebrates survival, from slavery on my father's side, the Shoah on my mother's side.
