Onlinelivenews24

Why did you decline the speedy deletion on Onlinelivenews24? Exactly the same article has already been created many times before, and deleted as A7. I've put it up for AfD, but I believe it should have been speedy deleted. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:45, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I declined it because speedy deletion is intended for articles that don't even make a plausible claim of notability (e.g. "Bob is my friend who's a real hoopy frood"). The article does assert that the site is one of the most popular in Bangladesh, so I don't think speedy is appropriate in this case. The article obviously will need more citations to pass -- and frankly I doubt that it will -- but I don't think speedy is the right process in this case. —Tim Pierce (talk) 14:07, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Suskinmanagement -- if you want to replace the image with a different one that would be fine. If there is an alternate image you're willing to release under a Creative Commons copyright license, you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard and use that on the article instead. In general, if the article has no image and there are photos of Sonja Sohn available on Wikimedia Commons, someone will probably add one back. —Tim Pierce (talk) 18:23, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hiromi kirishima, It has since been deleted as spam and a copyright infringement. I'm sorry, but I also cannot see where this YT personality would pass Wikipedia's very strict guidelines for notability. Other than a handful of articles in various WP:SPS-esque sources, there really is no coverage of this person. I also noted on the article's talk page that you claimed he is popular on YT, but popularity does not equate to notability. It can make it more likely but it is not a guarantee. I have been reverting clearly improper personal comments and have explained this to the new user on their talk page without escalating the warnings. Vandalism patrolling, which I have done for quite awhile, is an exception to 3RR. I don't claim to be always right and certainly make a mistake from time to time but I don't think someone can leave personal comments about "what an organization is really like" and not have them reverted. No problem. As I said, I am not perfect and have made mistakes in vandalism patrolling from time to time (not too often, I think). I don't mind an occasional check and look back. I have restored some edits promptly when I realized, or in a few cases had it pointed out to me, that they were in good faith and at least arguably correct. It is good to be kept alert when doing this. If a mistake is made, then it can be quickly corrected. I think that is key. Avoid errors but in the event one is made, correct it quickly with an explanation and even apology if appropriate. I try to do that but a little reminder can be helpful. Joe Val

Hi there - sorry to bother you, but I was hoping that you could help with a picture of the gravestone of bluegrass singer Joe Val, at Mount Feake Cemetery. The article tells me it has the engraving of a mandolin? I've no connection with the subject - it's a random copy-edit I picked out - but in an effort to improve wikipedia & as there are no images at all on it, I thought it might be nice. I only have experience editing text in wikipedia. I would like to add a photo to the Green card spam page. It is of my "green card lawers -- spamming the globe" t-shirt that I bought back during the green card spam days.   • @Gwillis: I think that sounds like a great idea and very on-topic for that page. The biggest concern is that uploading an image of someone else's artwork to Wikipedia can run afoul of intellectual property law. The image could be uploaded under the fair use doctrine in order to display it specifically on that one page. Alternatively, as it happens, I personally know Jay Furr, who designed the "Spamming The Globe" t-shirt. Request from beyond the grave

In 2007, you requested an image of the "Amstel Tower windmill" at Talk:Windmill. You either have got the wrong name or need to be more specific. The Amstel Tower is a to-be-built residential tower, while there are various tower-like windmills along the Amstel river.
