Vasind is a city in Shahapur taluka of Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is suburban city of Mumbai.Mumbai-Vasind distance is about 63.1 km.
Economy
Vasind hosts various medium and large scale industries in and around. Major industrial plants are :

Some Facts :-
Vasind was a very small village with about only 4-5 houses in the early 1820's . But in 1850's when Britishers Started construction of North Central Line to connect Mumbai with Northen India . They came with a proposal for a Railway Staion At Khatiwali about 1 kilometers ahead of vasind towards kasara { because their existed a village with population good enough for a station} . But due to lack of trust on britishers , residents of khatiwali denied the proposal and hence britishers choosed Vasind as a place to construct a Railway Station . and in the Year 1855 North Central Line was extended upto Vasind Cabin and Vasind station was constructed in mid 1855 .this totally changed the geography of Vasind . Vasind became an easy Connectivity of Mumbai by means of Emu local and 51153/ 51154 Mumbai bhusawal Passenger or "Sawari Gadi" .Vasind started to develop . Jilha parishad school commanly known as khapri shala [government school] was constucted in year 1866 which made vasind an educational center for nearby villagers and finally vasind Gram-panchayat was also established . and the Development went on but people had to face a problem for water and dependent on wells and Bhatsai river for drinking and other purpose water . In late 1970's water tank was constructed at Sahyadri hill and people got tap water direct to house and this problem was solved . Another major problem was the Mumbai-Nasik highway as it passed through Vasind Main town and Alot of people lost their lives due to accident while crossing and so. To solve this problem Government of Maharashtra took a huge step for diversion of this highway under peoples demand and the highway was diverted completly from outer vasind in order to prevent accident this was a major step.
Vasind is an excellent locality as it has Highway , Railway and most important The "BHATSAI" river for water supply.hence even today the city's developent is continious and has become one of the best cities in Shahapur Taluka ... Mega development has also been seen in Vasind like Jindal Steel Plant and Khanna company and Big residencies like Shubhvastu , Tata houzing etc hotels like Hotel Nisarg , Hotel Food Max ,Hotel Food Express, Hotel Dhingra , Hotel Chakrawarti ,Hotel Madhuram , Hotel OYO ,Hotel Sai darbar , Hotel Sansriti
One can also plan for a trip at hotel Nisarg and Shrushti Farms also at river Bhatsai as it is Perrenial { flows throughout year }.
As all religion people are living in vasind .Temples are in plenty amount like Shiv Mandir , Tadoba Mandir , Ganpati Mandir , Maruti Mandir {west} , Hanuman Mandir etc also a mosque { sunni } in west , a Church {east} and 2 Budha Vihars also one Jain temple are present here..all Hindu festivals like Holi , Diwali , Ganpati Festival , Rakshabandhan , etc also Marathi festivals like Sankranti , Gudi padwa , Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti , etc also Muslim fetivals like EID etc are celebrated.
Everything is Okay about the city but their is a "Funny Rumour " that ' Girls of vasind city DON'T stay at thier husbands house or village but tend to bring them to vasind or may get divorced .......Many such cases are found where girls bring thier husband to Vasind or get divorced but stay in vasind . I wont Lie though it isin't a good thing but Many such cases have happen and still happening and i have heard it from the people themselves . amy be because world is changing and vasind is a developed city but this is a crazy thing .

The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai which is about 63 km away.
Vasind is well connected to (Mumbai Suburban Railway) by Vasind Railway Station. It is on the rail line between Mumbai and Kasara.
Vasind is also well connected to Mumbai and Nashik by National Highway 160 (India). By road Vasind is 63 km North East of Mumbai, and 106 km South West of Nashik. Also Vasind provides major connectivity to the villages around by Roadways . Vasind is connected by road to the villages like Khatiwali , Dahagaon , Sarmal , Khaniwali , Sane-Pali , Piwali ,Gerse , Shei-Ambarje People from these places prefer Vasind Railway station to travel to Mumbai by means of Local train . Vasind is also connected to cities like Padgha , Ambadi and Shahapur by means of NH3 or Mumbai-Nashik Highway. Auto rickshaws are available from vasind naka or "Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chauk" to Khatiwali , Dahagaon , Sarmal , Khaniwali , Sane-Pali . Mini vans or Jeeps are available for Shahapur , Piwali , Ambadi . MSRTC busses , Jeeps and Autos are available from Vasind Rly stn {East} for Shei-Amnerje and gerse .
