Fazle Hasan Shishir (Bengali: ফজলে হাসান শিশির) is a film producer, writer, director, cinematographer, and editor. His career spans both independent and collaborative film projects.[2] In the 2018-19 fiscal year, he received for the short film Jhiripoth Periye, which he directed. In the 2024-25 fiscal year, he received as a producer for the feature film Suraiya, directed by Robiul Alam Rabi with a story and script written by Shibobrata Barman. This film project was also selected for the Asian Project Market 2023 at the Busan International Film Festival.[3]
Birth and education
[edit]Shishir was born in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Bangladesh in 2016.[4][5] Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued a Master of Arts in Film Studies at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, graduating in 2020.[6] In 2023, Shishir received a scholarship to study film producing at the Busan Asian Film School. Busan, South Korea.[7]

Teaching and curation
[edit]Fazle Hasan Shishir is also a teacher and curator. He conducts Film-producing courses at the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute. His curational projects include:
1)TENT Biennale 2020 in Kolkata, India: Curator of "Video Diaries of Contemporary Practitioners from Bangladesh".[13][14]
2) Exhibition ongoing (2016): Curator of an alternative photography installation as part of the Second Nazrul Jayanti Photography Exhibition by the Film and Photography Club, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University[15]

- As a producer his Project Suraiya got selected in FilmLab SouthAsia 2023, Produire Au Sud, Festival des 3 Continents and for Asian Project Market, Busan International Film Festival 2023[17][7][18]
