Conflicting emergence dates
[edit]Several sources have (apparently) conflicting dates on the emergence and identification of the disease.
- 2007 - (Abstract) - "This pathogen...had not been reported on any turf species outside of Japan."
- 2003 - (2007 Article) - "First came to our attention in late July, 2003"; "In 2004 and 2005, more superintendents...were complaining...."
- 2005 - (Abstract) - "The disease was first reported in Japan in 2005 and then in the United States."
I don't have access to the full articles in some cases, so it is possible these are citing dates of different events that are not clear from the abstracts. -Xpctr8 (talk) 14:22, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
Importance of the disease
[edit]I blanked the section on "Importance" because it was speculative and largely unsourced. However, several of the references make note of potential economic impact of the spread of the disease, so there may be good content for a future section here on that topic. -Xpctr8 (talk) 14:25, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
