[edit]

The former article Ceramics has been moved to Ceramic, and its talk page is now Talk:Ceramic.

I have edited (hopefully) every link to this page that should point to Ceramic, and have made this into a disambiguation page, to try and reduce the confusion between the fine art and the material. I made a new article for the fine art, since I couldn't find one. I have not edited links to this page that relate to the fine art, since the article for that may move to a new title once the Arts folks notice it.--Srleffler 06:42, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this should redirect to the art because if one was referring to the material, I believe, ceramic would be the plural, not spelled with a "s". --WillMak050389 20:54, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With only two items, and with the "s" difference, you really don't need a disambig page. Redirect this page to Ceramics (art). And each page already has a pointer at the top to the other if people wind up at the wrong page. You will have to check and change any links to this page that should point to Ceramic. Finally, you made your comment at Wikipedia:Disambiguation_pages_with_links/2006-03-26_dump, and it should have been at the latest one: Wikipedia:Disambiguation_pages_with_links/2006-05-18_dump. I agree. Once all the pages that should link to ceramic (the type of material) have been fixed, this article should be a redirect to Ceramics (art).--Srleffler 21:39, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected to Ceramic art

[edit]

Ceramics is now a redirect to Ceramic art, and {{redirect|Ceramics|the material|Ceramic}} has been added to the article Ceramic art. Ceramics, as generally defined, refers to objects made of the material ceramic. The article Ceramic art is the most appropriate article covering all objects made of ceramic. For a source on defining ceramic & ceramics, see: Dodd, Arthur & David Murfin, Dictionary of Ceramics Woodhead Publishing Ltd., Cambridge, 2007. ISBN 978-0901716569 - Appendix A - The definition of 'Ceramics'. Cheers Gmcbjames (talk) 18:07, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pottery is a much better redirect, covering building ceramics etc. Clearly not all ceramics are artistic. The current Ceramic art remains a disaster area, which cannot remain for long. Johnbod (talk) 22:46, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
