[edit]

I think the refrences need some work to be in wikipedia format. If someone would guide me in how to correct that I would be happy to. Sullivja 09:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)sullivja[reply]

Done. Some were left over, so I moved them to external links. GregorB 11:44, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sponsors? So many of them?

[edit]

I like how half the history is filled with sponsor plugs. Pretty classy. Lets say I delete it and no one gets upset? Fadedroots (talk) 07:02, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance to Amateur Radio

[edit]

I just undid an edit which had removed Category:Amateur radio with the comment "Unclear what this has to do with amateur radio". I don't mean to be unfriendly by that so let me add some info here. There is already a reference to an ARRL News article from May 19, 2004, "Ham Radio-Carrying Rocket Exceeds Goal; Avionics Recovered Intact". (You'll notice my name on two of the photos in the article, one of which I have since also contributed to Wikimedia Commons.) Anyway, the comment that it appears unclear about what it has to do with Amateur Radio does point out that, outside of the reference, the article text indeed doesn't say anything about it. So let's accept that as a suggestion for a clarification or addition to the article text. But rest assured the CSXT Space Shot 2004 (and prior years) was very relevant to Amateur Radio. The creator and previous authors of this page just didn't write that in - I've been trying to help clean things up here, starting with the launch photo I contributed, because I was at the event and led the recovery team. So the Amateur Radio category should be retained - a current reference does already support it. Rather than removing the category, additional relevant text should be added. removed COI tag added by anonymous IP

[edit]

An anonymous editor added a conflict of interest (COI) tag to this page. I removed it because it did not include an explanation about the objection, and isn't useful or helpful without that. I'll add some notes here, since they were undoubtedly looking at my contributions to the page. I was involved in the tracking and recovery effort. Though I'm not a CSXT member and was not involved in building any hardware. I added my photo of the launch, which was a generous contribution I made to Wikipedia - once uploaded, this is the article where it would go. That significantly helped to document the history that took place. The text that others started with is still there - I've specifically avoided making major changes to the text because of WP:COI. The cases where I added to the text, it included new supporting references to satisfy WP:VERIFY. Also, many of my edits here were part of a wider effort to help categorize and update pages about the Black Rock Desert. Ikluft (talk) 09:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dar Robinson

[edit]

The article links to a stuntman named Dar Robinson who supposedly are/were a member of the team. According to the article, the organization was formed in 1995. According to the article about Robinson, he died in an accident performing a stunt in 1986. Is Dar Robinson's ghost a member of the team, or is the link incorrect? —Preceding unsigned comment added by AndersFeder (talkcontribs) 22:34, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article says that the 1995 rocket was dedicated in his memory, not that he was a member of the team. If you think the wording could be improved, go ahead. Ikluft (talk) 23:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It did before I updated the article... Look. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AndersFeder (talkcontribs) 21:05, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
