Undue weight on music

[edit]

It appears he has recorded some songs and albums, none of which charted at all anywhere. He has since appeared in film and TV and done far better. This article makes him out to be a very poorly received musician and not much else, which is incorrect. Sirhissofloxley (talk) 21:13, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This page has now been updated using credible sources with more focus on work in film and TV. 2.99.27.241 (talk) 10:10, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality context in intro and lead

[edit]

See MOS:CONTEXTBIO. He is described as a British actor as he has lived all but the first three months of his life in the UK. He resides and works in the UK. His notable career is in the UK. He disclaims any connection to the US and says he has no memory of living in the US. Other than the legal jus soli right to American citizenship he could claim if he wanted to, he has no interest or connection to the US. Lots of edits that insist on classifying this British actor as American when he, himself, disclaims that. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:43, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated posting of unsourced content

[edit]

@James CZ FEA please review the Wikipedia guidelines for biographies of a living person.

Below are the user's reasons for adding "Youtube short films" in the filmography section of this page, which do not adhere to the guidelines or Wikipedia policy. The addition was previously removed due to lack of sources and then added again so I bringing this topic to the talk page to avoid further repetition.

"Added my known records of his early YouTube short films and descriptions of them from the original YouTube post or from my memory of what they contain if the YouTube description was absent. Links will bring you to a deleted video on YouTube but I believe for record keeping purposes they should remain."

"links replaced with wayback machine links, links not found for way back machine should still be preserved for archival purposes for future use in tools to restore videos if possible. Descriptions of videos unable to be recovered by wayback machine (such as "whatever we're selling") are first hand knowledge as I have watched the videos. "

The user's listed reasons indicate that there is a personal interest in contributing to this page. (Read more at WP:OR)

The addition of the videos disrupts the balance of the page in terms of relevance to the person's current status (Read more at WP:NPOV)

The entry of these videos is supported by a synopsis that has no credible source other than the user’s own knowledge from having viewed the video themselves. (Read more at WP:V)

These Youtube videos do not meet the wikipedia film notability requirements and can not be submitted to a living person’s page through a wayback machine link along the rest of their filmography. (Read more at WP:NFILM)

"original research means material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published source exists"
Reliable sources exist, they are linked. They are directly from the subjects official YouTube channel. It would be understandable to remove unlinked/cited videos or change/remove descriptions that I provided myself.. archive 52: Can YouTube be used as a primary source
I am unsure what "neutral point of view" policy has to do with the flow of the page and current status with regard to citing early film work.
"In the English Wikipedia, verifiability means other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source."
Links meet this criteria, any user is able to follow them to view the videos to verify the content. James CZ FEA (talk) 04:12, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that those edits contravene WP:NOR and support the removal. We would need a secondary source discussing that these works exist prior to including them. We are not here to publish new information. SmartSE (talk) 07:20, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What kind of secondary source would be suitable to prove the works existed? AFAIK cosmo uploaded to Vimeo, YouTube and announced videos on his social media accounts. James CZ FEA (talk) 15:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
