Please add this entry: Dozens killed in Islamist militant attack on northwest Pakistan army base

Apparently the main pages is locked for whatever reason. Can someone please add this to the list of attacks?

https://www.france24.com/en/asia-pacific/20231212-several-killed-dozens-wounded-in-suicide-attack-on-northwest-pakistan-police-station

"Dozens killed in Islamist militant attack on northwest Pakistan army base Islamist militants rammed an explosive-laden truck into a police station in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least 24 people, two security officials said, the latest devastating attack in recent months claimed by a Pakistani Taliban group." @Eduardo-wikiedits please read the section that starts "To be included in this standalone list ..." at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_Islamist_terrorist_attacks#. That is the list criteria for any attack to be included in this list. TarnishedPathtalk 04:51, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Please add these four entries to 2005 data

Source, U.S. Department of State at https://2001-2009.state.gov/p/nea/ci/israel/79005.htm

Quote: Palestinian Islamic Jihad claimed credit for several terrorist attacks that occurred in Israel, including:

1. The February 25 2005 suicide bombing of a Tel Aviv nightclub.

2. The July 12 2005 suicide bombing near a mall in Netanya.

3. The October 26 2005 suicide bombing at the market in Hadera.

4. The December 5 5005 suicide bombing at the mall in Netanya.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad used the word "Islamic" in its name, and the U.S. Department of State labelled their attacks as "terrorist attacks," thus their terror attacks are "Islamist terrorist attacks" and belong on the page.

Sources for numbers killed and wounded:

1. The Guardian at https://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/feb/25/israel3

A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd of Israelis waiting outside a nightclub near Tel Aviv's beachfront promenade tonight, killing as many as five people, wounding dozens = 5 killed and more than 24 wounded

2. YNetNews at https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3112639,00.html

TEL AVIV - The toll from Tuesday's Netanya bombing rose to five Thursday = 5 killed

3. University of Maryland at https://www.start.umd.edu/gtd/search/IncidentSummary.aspx?gtdid=200510260001

10/26/2005: A suicide bomber blew himself up in a market in Hadera, Israel, killing five people and injuring 25 others. Palestinian Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack = 5 killed and 25 wounded.

4. NBC news at https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna10332176

Suicide bomber strikes mall in Netanya, Israel. A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to a shopping mall in the northern Israeli town of Netanya, killing at least five and wounding scores, police said. = 5 killed and more than 40 wounded.

Please add these to the list. Thank you. Catherineyronwode (talk) 02:36, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Would it be reasonable to add Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7th? Vsauce9000 (talk) 23:23, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

We had an RfC on that at Talk:List of Islamist terrorist attacks/Archive 9#Should Operation Al-Aqsa Flood by Hamas included in the list of Islamist Terrorist attacks? and there was no consensus for adding it to the list. So the answer is no, it would not be reasonable. You need to obtain consensus before making any such edit. TarnishedPathtalk 03:35, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Maintenance tags

@Pharaoh of the Wizards, I've restored the tags. The issues raised in those tags are still present in the article. I just haven't had time to go through the article lately with more clean-up. The biggest problem is entries that don't meet the list criterions "The incident has a corresponding stand-alone Wikipedia article" and "The consensus of reliable sources describe the incident as "terrorism"". The second criterion pretty much accounts for the three tags, original research, synth and unreliable sources. TarnishedPathtalk 03:50, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Islamist terrorist attacks VS Islamist person committing a crome

What is the difference between an Islamic terrorist attack and just a guy who is Islamic committing an attack or crime? For example the Wasserbillig Crèche Hostage Crisis, the suspect was Islamic but would the attack be considered Islamic terrorism? LuxembourgLover (talk) 06:31, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

An Islamist terrorist attack is a very specific type of attack involving the use of intentional violence and fear to further the Islamist cause. If a Muslim individual commits a crime without such intentions, then it is not an Islamist crime. If there are no reliable sources indicating the motive of the Wasserbillig Crèche Hostage Crisis to be Islamism (the article does not mention any motive), then there is no reason to assume that it is anything more than a crime that was perpetrated by an individual who just so happened to be a Muslim, and therefore should not be included in this list. - ZLEA T\C 07:54, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
@LuxembourgLover, crimes committed by people who happen to be Islamic don't belong here. There's a list criteria at the top of this page. For an entry to be include in this list:
  • The incident must be notable
  • The incident must have a corresponding stand-alone Wikipedia article
  • The consensus of reliable sources must describe the incident as "terrorism"
In an RfC at Talk:List of Islamist terrorist attacks/Archive 9#RfC (What should the selection criteria be for an entry to be included in the List of Islamist terrorist attacks?) I attempted to further specify the list criteria in relation to the term Islamist. However no consensus was arrived at. However I think it is still pretty clear that in order for an attack to be determined to be a Islamist terrorist attack and be included in this list sources must describe it as an Islamist terrorist attack and not merely some crime committed by someone who happens to be Islamic. Anything included in this list that is just a crime committed by an Islamic person is original research. TarnishedPathtalk 07:58, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

In the Crocus City Hall attack, change "carried out a suicide bombing at a concert hall" to "carried out an attack at a concert hall". There is no evidence of a suicide bombing in the cited source or anywhere online. Theteddy9 (talk) 18:54, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

Repeated additions of 2024 Wakeley church stabbing to this list

Pinging @DeFacto, @Christophervincent01 and @Salfanto as involved editors. Appologies if I've missed anyone.
There has been a couple of editors who have edited to add 2024 Wakeley church stabbing to this list. Notably 3 sources have been given each time (4 references but two of them are exactly the same).
This list has a inclusion criteria for items to be included in this list (see the top of this page) and one of the criterion is that: "The consensus of reliable sources describe the incident as "terrorism"". Notably of the three sources given only one describes the incident as "terrorism". Clearly a consensus of reliable sources do not describe the incident as terrorism. Further, none, exactly zero of the sources have called this an islamist/islamic attack. If this material is to be re-added then these shortcomings need to be addressed. I suggest discussion here before any further editing on this because if the exact same text, using the same sources is added again it will get reverted per the list inclusion criteria and per WP:NOR. Buenos Aires suicide bombing by Islamic Jihad

I think the suicide bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires from 1992 belongs on this list. 21 dead and 252 wounded according to the LA Times archive. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-03-19-mn-5905-story.html 4.35.6.130 (talk) 14:27, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing me to this. Truly astonishing that this is considered debatable. Reading through the "No's" has been a fascinating foray into Islamic denialism and sophistry. If this wasn't an Islamic terrorist attack, then there's no such thing as "Islamic terrorism".
As one commenter pointed out:
"Article Eight:
Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes."

Someone need to add the Solingen attack to this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Islamist_terrorist_attacks
(and since the page is protected I can't add it. Perhaps someone else can?) Eduardo-wikiedits (talk) 09:59, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
@Eduardo-wikiedits, firstly you should refer to the inclusion criteria at the top of this article. Next if you think the entry meets the inclusion criteria, spell out the specific prose and citations that you want added. TarnishedPathtalk 10:13, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
