Review
[edit]It's generally alright. Just a few things that jumped out at me on a read-through.
- The lead says that it began development in 2008, but I don't see any other mention of this information in the main body of the article.
- "Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn is a role-playing game that uses a third-person perspective." - Some clarification on how the camera behaves (such as whether it remains static or follows the character) would be nice, if possible.
- In the gameplay section (this is entirely optional), the screenshot shows a three-member battle party: is it limited to three interchangeable characters, or do you need one human character in battle? A little more specification would be useful here if possible.
- "As they enlist the sages' help, they learn of a wand known that could..." - The name of the wand appears to be missing. If it doesn't have a name, or the name is difficult to include in some way, you can just cut out "known".
- In the "Sales" section, the phrase "the game had sold" is repeated quite a few times. Maybe alter things a little to provide variety.
That's all I really saw that made me pause. Otherwise, it's a good GA-level article. Putting this on hold until the issues are sorted. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:39, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review, ProtoDrake! I always appreciate your suggestions, particularly with a topic like this. I've gone through and tried to fix your concerns. Let me know if there's anything else. – Rhain1999 (talk to me) 08:02, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
- That was really all I saw. I think this can pass. Good job. --ProtoDrake (talk) 08:52, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
Where does the name "Dominion of the Dark Djinn" come from?
[edit]"Dominion of the Dark Djinn" is clearly a fanciful, brushed-up translation of Shikkoku no Madōshi (lit. The Jet-Black Mage). But this game never received an English release. So where did this translation come from? — Kawnhr (talk) 18:18, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- From Level-5's English website (now archived since Level-5 International America shut down earlier this year). ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:27, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the prompt response. Very interesting (and unusual) that the international branch gave it a localized title. Perhaps this should be mentioned somewhere in the article? — Kawnhr (talk) 21:17, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- It was most likely going to be localized and released before Wrath of the White Witch was a thing. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 07:48, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

This article talk about a Video Game published only in Japan and especially famous because of a book, "The Wizard's Companion", that was sold together with the game. There is a strong connection between the game main character and the player through this book. This book is mentionned in the chineese page of the game and in the fandom wiki: https://ninokuni.fandom.com/wiki/Wizard%27s_Companion
This edit request aims at mentionning the existence of this book in the english wikipedia page, its key role in gameplay and its adaptation in PS3 as a digital book with missing pages.
Edit suggestion: "The game was sold together with a hardcover book: "The Wizard's Companion", a 340-pages book containing gameplay information, hints and a spell inventory. In the PS3 version of the game, a digital Wizard's Companion exists inside the game with missing pages that the player is expected to collect."
