Original research?

Under the Nickel–Strunz section: "IMA-CNMNC proposes a new hierarchical scheme (Mills et al., 2009). This list uses it to modify the Nickel–Strunz classification (mindat.org, 10 ed, pending publication)." Doesn't this constitute original research or synthesis?
