Cleaned up links section
[edit]I cleaned up the links section, which was pointing only to 404 pages from tour operators, and one to the MFA site which is not working anymore. Replaced them with different working links to updated info sites.
There was a link floating under the article, cleaned that up too.
Could not find citations for the visa-free travel section, not sure if it is accurate. Need more information on this, if anyone can find it, please. Walter mn (talk) 14:51, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Adjust the Map
[edit]I have added Japan to the visa-free section, but the map needs updating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yabbox (talk • contribs) 08:28, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Visa on arrival
[edit]Dear team, It is high probability the article on Mongolia visa policy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Mongolia needs correction for “visa on arrival”.
I was surprised to see the information provided on Wikipedia. Why earlier today our staff in Ulan Bator today have called to both the Ministry and Immigration in Ulan Bator. It was said there is no change for some EU countries (new category yellow-green colored) and UAE for “visa on arrival”. It means all arrivals without a visa, require a pre-arranged visa (=approval made by immigration in Ulan Bator), and the phrase for this is best “visa collection on arrival”.
I suggest to simply erase all “visa on arrival” content (=as is applicable under “visa collection”. I.e. Norway and Finland should be the same category.
Once it is approved in Ulan Bator an English language authorization letter is issued by the Mongolia immigration, forwarded to the Mongolian sponsor. Who in turn sends the visa approval letter to the traveler, who then is able to substantiate to airline check-in staff, a visa has been issued, and will be collected on arrival. The information I provide is verifiable by the existing links to MFA on the wiki page. I am just pointing at different ways of reading the same information.
P.S. What all the yellow colored countries have in common is that they have no Mongolian diplomatic representation. However, it does not mean, there is no consular service there. The know personally the Mongolian honorary consuls of Finland, Spain and Norway. All Scandinavia and Baltic Republics reports to the Mongolian embassy in Stockholm. It is uncommon around the world, that nations allows honorary consuls who are foreign nationals to issue Mongolian visas. But in the case of Mongolia, it is allowed.
In addition, for example Morocco, who does not have any consular representation of Mongolia, we can at all times pre arrange for “visa collection” on arrival for not only Moroccan nationals. Also for foreign nationals with a residence permit in Morocco, by way of a valid residence visa or residence card, as residents in Morocco. Mongolia has honorary consuls in many countries, but not all has authorization for visa issue. Why it is best at all times, to check with the sponsor in Mongolia, before travelling. Not to be refused check-in at the airport.

Electronic visa
[edit]Hi
It seems like, Mongolia is now opening a new service to some 36 countries to receive electronic visas: https://consul.mn/eng/index.php?moduls=26, thus allowing the citizens of these countries obtain visas without needing to visit consulates of Mongolia.
