Since 1986, Jorge Ramos has been the anchorman for Noticiero Univision. Currently, he also hosts "Al Punto," a public affairs program aired weekly on the same network. His contributions to journalism include the coverage of five wars, as well as the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks, among other significant world events. In 2002, he founded Despierta Leyendo (Wake Up Reading), the first book club in the history of Hispanic Television. [1]
Ramos is a father of two who enjoys playing soccer every Saturday morning and is considered one of the most eloquent, credible, and powerful voices of Hispanic America. [2] In a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, he was recognized as the second most popular leader in the United States, following behind the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor.
