WrestleMania 25 was the twenty-fifth annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It took place on March 30, 2009 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The event was the first in San Diego and the third WrestleMania in Southern California.

Tickets were on sale November 3, 2008. The full capacity of Qualcomm Stadium was reached with people coming from the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Japan, and and other Asian Countries. Qualcomm Stadium reached its full capacity since Super Bowl XXXVII.

WrestleMania 23 was a joint-promotion pay-per-view event, featuring performers from the RAW, SmackDown!, and ECW brands. The tagline for WrestleMania 23 was "All Grown Up". The official theme song for the event was "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva. The secondary theme song was "The Memory Will Never Die" by Default.

  • Dark Match: Hardcore Holly won a 20-Man Interpromotional Battle Royal. (15:52)
    • Holly scooped Chavo Guerrero over the top rope to win.
  • Jeff Hardy defeated Umaga, Batista, Hurricane, The Rock, and Carlito in the 5th annual Money In The Bank Ladder Match. (18:02)
    • The Rock was carried out on a stretcher after a sick bump.
    • Batista and Hurricane were brawling near the stage area and both particiapnts fell in the cables below.
      • Jeff Hardy, Carlito, and Umaga were the only ones in the ring at the 15-minute mark and Jeff Hardy bundled out Carlito from a ladder and Hardy shoved Umaga from the 10-foot ladder into 2 tables to win the match.
        • Jeff Hardy has a contract for a WWE Championship shot which expires in one year.
  • Chris Jericho defeated Super Crazy, Matt Hardy, Jamie Noble, CM Punk, Tommy Dreamer, Marcus Cor Von, Balls Mahoney, John Morrison, and Nunzio in a 10-man battle royal to retain the ECW Championship. (12:20)
    • Chris Jericho bundled John Morrison over the top rope following a Lion Sault.
  • Tommy Dreamer defeated CM Punk in a Extreme Rules Match. (8:46)
    • Dreamer won after a legdrop to Punk while he was lying on the ring barrier.
    • After the match, Punk and Dreamer shook hands signifying that their tag team is still intact.
  • Triple H defeated Big Daddy V. (7:78)
    • Triple H recorded two pedigrees, one in the ring and one on the ECW announcers table for the win.
  • The Undertaker defeated John Cena (30:55)
    • The Undertaker executed 15 chokeslams, signifying his 15-0 record at WrestleMania, which surprisingly John Cena kicked out on all pinfall attempts made by Taker after the slams. On the other hand, John Cena delivered 5 F-U's, signifying his 5-0 record at WrestleMania.
    • The Undertaker won with a finishing Tombstone Pilderiver for the victory.
    • This was the longest non-main event match in WrestleMania history.
  • Ric Flair defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship. (10:01)
    • Ric Flair won with the figure-four leglock.
    • Ric Flair got this title match with a win at the Royal Rumble, and succeeded with a win against Edge.
  • Shawn Michaels defeated Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship. (18:12)
    • HBK executed Sweet Chin Music following a failed RKO attempt by Orton.
    • HBK celebrated with the fans for 10 minutes after the match had ended.
