If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. I would also urge you to review WP:BAND. Musical acts require an extremely high leel of notability. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:40, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:The Unconscious.jpg.JPG
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:The Unconscious.jpg.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. → Dylan620 (Toolbox Alpha, Beta) 18:14, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I submitted the file for deletion, but another editor submitted the article for deletion. → Dylan620 (Toolbox Alpha, Beta) 18:37, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of The Unconscious (band)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Unconscious (band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:BAND lacks non-trivial coverage in independent sources
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:34, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello. As had been pointed out by another editor, the band fails the notability requirements outlined at WP:BAND. Furthermore, your userpage was a copy of the article, which indcates a possible conflict of interest as well. One more thing: Please refrain from personal attacks. Nothing here is ever lost and can be easily restored. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:40, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]I see that you placed a "hangon" tag on one of your articles. That is not necessary as it only applies to articles that are tagged for speedy deletion. That is not the case here. The PROD tag indicates that the article will not be deleted for several days, giving editors time to improve it to meet Wikipedia standards. Please ask if you have any questions. Thank you. Also, please don't simply recreate deleted material. Instead, please review Wikipedia:Articles for undeletion as to how to obtain community consensus. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:44, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Still, there's a code of civility which we try to abide by here. I am not the least bit ignorant of the rules of inclusion, or I wouldn't have the administrative privileges I have. I'm sorry, but the group does not meet the requirements for inclusion. You may have misunderstood what was meant by a user page. Instead, you can create what's called a "user subpage." It's like this: User:25johnpizza/Name of article in which you'd replace "Name of article" with the working title of the actual article. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:04, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
PS: If the comment wasn't meant as a personal attack, not to worry. No offense taken. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:05, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
