I noticed you also had problems with User:Lecen. This user seems to be trying to get the ownership of that article, so that he will be the only one allowed to post there. He revertes and criticizes everybody who tries to contribute for that article. I noticed he is also always reverting you and criticizing your work there. Recently, he started a campaign against me at Wikipedia. He wrote: "This time I will ask for you head. Hear my words: I will not give up until you are expeled from here". Can you believe it?

Linda McCartney

I reverted your edit where you changed the picture on Linda's article. Like you, I'd prefer to use that picture, but according to WP policy, we can't. The album cover is what's called a "fair use" image, and use of those images is quite restricted. For album covers, the article where an image of the cover is used has to be specifically about the album. Clearly, Linda's article is not specifically about the album. For Linda's page, we need an image where the image's license allows free usage on Wikipedia or similar applications. Unfortunately, the only image we have so far is the one of her behind Paul. Brazilian culture

Hello, Auréola.

You asked me for help regarding the section "Culture" in the article about Brazil.

I can agree with you that the culture section is lacking; particularly I think it should mention Brazilian literature and erudite music. However, this has to be short; there are already articles about Literature of Brazil and Music of Brazil. I don't agree in making an extensive list of Brazilian writers or musicians, and I can't support bringing back asides about Monteiro Lobato's entrepreneurial initiatives, or the idea that Pré-Modernismo was a literary movement. Exile Poetry

This link http://www.poetryintranslation.com/PITBR/Latin/Ovidexilehome.htm takes you to a pretty good translation of all of Ovid's exile poetry in English, although the Peter Green edition is probably the most famous translation of it today. Ovid discusses Tomis a lot, and it is in those poems which you will find the most information about the Scythians. I know Book 4 of the Epistulae has a lot of Scythian stuff in it, and Book 3 of the Tristia.Jdf8 (talk) 12:44, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the hooks are fine. But the article itself is too short: there must be at least 1500 characters of readable prose, not including quotes etc. So you need to make the article on the tiger painting longer. Strange Passerby (talkcstatus) 01:49, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Three points:

  • It is generally presumed that Leonardo drew the entire picture but this is not certain. Note the phallus is in a different colour. It may have been added later by another hand.
  • In writing a caption about an artwork in an article about an artist, it isn't necessary to say that the artist drew part of a picture. Not unless we are talking about only part of the picture, eg in Verrocchio's painting of the Baptism of Christ is would be proper to say "Note the angel painted by Leonardo".
  • Leonardo da Vinci is properly referred to as Leonardo, for short, not da Vinci and definitely not Da Vinci with a capital D. When in Milan, he was called Leonardo from Florence, not Leonardo from Vinci. Amandajm (talk) 07:41, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Olá, tudo bem? Lembro que você votou na proposta pra destaque do artigo da cantora Cher em português e vi que você tem um nível avançado de inglês, então me senti a vontade pra falar contigo. Eu trabalhei durante alguns meses no artigo Cher e, há menos de um mês, o sugeri para artigo destacado. A maioria dos usuários destacou o bom conteúdo do artigo, porém houve consenso geral sobre as inconsistências nos pronomes e na redação em geral. Como meu nível de inglês é bastante iniciante, fiz o melhor que pude pra manter a redação o mais profissional possível, mas obviamente ainda há bastante erros. No entanto, todo o trabalho "duro" já foi feito: o conteúdo está completamente referenciado com fontes fidedignas e a pesquisa já está concluída. Os pontos em que o artigo peca são a redação e a formatação das referências. Posso (e vou) cuidar sozinho do último, mas, em relação a redação, não há muito que eu possa fazer. O tempo voa mesmo... E política deixa todo mundo fora dos eixos... cada vez mais. Temos que tentar manter o foco em não nos deixar levar pelos hormonios. ;) Olhando o teu bloqueio e o do Onjack, eu vi o quanto de politicagem existe na Wikipedia, o que só me deixa mais enojado e sem vontade de contribuir. Mas não vou me deixar afetar. :D Não dedico muito tempo à wikipedia. Ando viciado em Soul Train, então assisto/ouço os episódios no youtube e vou atualizando a wikipedia aos poucos. hahah.
