Hi BomBom. After your comment at WT:FLC, there was a rather long discussion about it, culminating in Matthewedwards' response. If you are curious to know exactly why he did what he did, you can read his response. Regarding the list, there was actually one problem that I did not spot during my review: the footnotes were not in alphabetical order. I have fixed that. I hope you don't let your experience deter you from submitting lists to FLC; sadly, failed nominations because of the lack of reviewers seems to be all to common. Please feel free to resubmit the monarchs list to FLC. Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 15:05, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi Dabomb87!! I read Matthewedwards' response and thanked him for it. I have taken your advice and resubmitted the list to FLC. Do you think I should ask David Fuchs to do an image review again? I find it unnecessary and don't want to bother him, but Matthewedwards indicated that one of the reasons why he did not promote the list was that David Fuchs did not explicitly state whether all of his concerns had been met. Regards. BomBom (talk) 23:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
BomBom, I got to be honest with you. I am not familiar with the topic of extinct monarchies (with the exception of Nepal, Indonesian monarchies and several extinct monarchies in Europe). However, I will try to learn about the topic and if I managed to learn it by tomorrow, I promise you I will participate in Featured list candidates debate. I bookmarked the page. Side note: I don't really like the use of word "Fate" in the table. It sounds not quite right, at least in my opinion. It might be better to use words like "Notes" or something similar. I'll leave the decision to you. w_tanoto (talk) 00:07, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
- David Fuchs is sick, but if you ask him if all your concerns were resolved, he should be able to answer. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:13, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

- Hi BomBom! You left a message on my talk page asking me to review this list. I'm really sorry I didn't get round to it in time - my Wikipedia editing is very sporadic. But I wanted to congratulate you on an excellent list, and a very well-deserved featured list star. Please do let me know if there's anything else I can help with, and I'll do my best. -- TinaSparkle (talk) 11:45, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Waltz with Bashir.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Waltz with Bashir.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Canvassing
[edit]I want to warn you about potential canvassing as done by your recent contributions. 1)Its okay to ask other to review an FLC, but its not okay for you to ask members of the project of which the article belongs to, this causes WP:COI. 2)Be patient, just because you don't see people coming to review the FLC does not mean it will not be reviewed. It takes patience, and as you can see you got many votes from WP:TURKEY members. Next time just be cautious on who you ask to review. --Truco 15:11, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- Its okay to notify them about the FLC, but its best to do it at the project talk page not notify each one by one, it may lead to WP:COI, whether it is COI is up to the Director who closes it. Its just a minor thing which we need to avoid at times.--Truco 16:16, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks..sultans
[edit]Thanks for the notice about the Sultans, and the efforts to delete the article. There is an unbalanced playing field: there are people that contribute nothing of value and spend their free time on deletionist binges. Yet, try to save the worthy articles, and the deletionists attack you via their wikipedia watch-hawks that prevent you from exercising your free speech, to balance against the deletionists. In short, don't get intimidatedinto not alerting re the impending death of legitimate articles.Dogru144 (talk) 20:15, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Christopher Long (geologist)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Christopher Long (geologist), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Lacks non-trivial, third party reliable sourcing that would meet WP:N and allow for a full, neutral article to be written about this individual. All the articles that mention him are about the White Scar Caves, not the individual. His achievement can be (and is) noted at the article for the caves.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Cheers, CP 16:54, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello. You recently reverted the move of this article without looking at my edit summary (Per talk and conventions) or at the talk page. The move was made with the consensus developed on the talk page, a consensus that I support. Furthermore, you created this article before the name of the speech became known, and you have a conflict of interest as the creator of the article. Please do not unilaterally revert moves made with consensus on the talk page and then claim that there is no consensus. Second of all, we move articles about speeches to the name of the speech once the title becomes known. This is standard procedure and was done with the consensus on talk. As the article creator, your revert of this move shows that you are only interested in promoting the name of your chosen article, not in adhering to consensus or to naming conventions. Please reconsider your position and your editing behavior in the future. I have moved the article to a neutral place holder (per whitehouse.gov) until your dispute is resolved on the talk page. As before, there are now three editors on the talk page (including myself) who support moving the article to "A New Beginning", however the current article name (Barack Obama speech at Cairo University, 2009) is also acceptable. - Hi Bom! I see that you are gone on a wikibreak but I have to return you your invitation below, being really too short of time in wiki, as I wrote earlier, to participate in yet another project. Spending my moments here principally to make sure that the previous subjects on which I edited (such as Kubadabad Palace, Alaeddin Mosque, Saruhan and the List of Ottoman Grand Viziers, closely related to yours) keep on looking handsome, balanced and healthy, playing backgammon in other words. I can't cover 3500 years of Anatolian/Turkish history on my own. I suggest you keep checking at WikiProject Turkey from time to time but contrary to some places around the globe, there is no organized effort to speak of among Turks to promote our subjects. While wikipedia may be beyond the grasp of their IQ's for the moment, one day our "huiles" may come to the decision that this is fair enough for Turks as well. Thank you for the invitation anyway and regards. Cretanforever (talk) 15:02, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, Cretanforever! Sorry to disturb you, but I saw from this category that you are a member of WikiProject Turkey, and the List of sultans of the Ottoman Empire is currently a featured list candidate. If you could take some of your time and review it on its nomination page, I would be very grateful. Regards. --BomBom (talk) 03:05, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello BomBom! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 121 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

The article 2009 Kleen Energy plant explosion has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- There is an existing article 2010 Kleen Energy Systems explosion and the year is wrong.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Clubmarx (talk) 18:31, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Irving_G._Thalberg_Memorial_Award.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Irving_G._Thalberg_Memorial_Award.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 15:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

You have contributed to the List of sultans of the Ottoman Empire by adding a notes column. On this column it is claimed that Mehmet III (13th sultan) had been Assassinated. You turned this template into an article, so I though you would want to know that I have nominated the article for deletion. I know that on its surface the subject looks like a perfectly valid article topic, but I don't believe that it is, for reasons I explain at the deletion discussion. A. References vs. Further reading
[edit]Hi! In this edit, you have added a link under the heading "References." Please understand that "References" should always mean sources used in writing the article. When this principle is not followed, the sourcing of our articles becomes unclear. If you just want to add a link or a source not already used in writing our article, please put it under "Further reading" or "External links." (In this case, the link had only two blah sentences about Dionysius, so it didn't really belong in the encyclopedia at all.) Cheers, Wareh (talk) 15:15, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Main Page appearance
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of monarchs of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on June 18, 2012. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/June 18, 2012. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 07:44, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Monarchs of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty reigned over Egypt from 1805 to 1953. Their rule also extended to Sudan and the Levant throughout much of this period, as well as to Hejaz during the first half of the 19th century. The Muhammad Ali Dynasty was founded by Muhammad Ali Pasha (pictured), an Albanian commander in the expeditionary force sent by the Ottoman Empire in 1801 to dislodge the French occupation of Egypt led by Napoleon Bonaparte. Isma'il Pasha is a notable monarch of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty because of his inauguration of the Suez Canal and for his Haussmann-inspired rebuilding of Cairo. Farouk I was Egypt and Sudan's penultimate monarch. After his forced abdication following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, his infant son, Fuad II, continued to reign as a nominal king-in-exile until the monarchy was formally abolished on 18 June 1953.

The article Captain Pantoja and the Special Services (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
We only have articles on two topics by this title, one of which is the primary topic, so per WP:TWODABS there's no need for a disambiguation page and hatnotes can be used instead.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:07, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
