Biographies of living people

[edit]

Hi ChaitanyaJo, thanks for your edits and interest. I have reverted your additions to articles of caste information, as generally this type of information is not suitable for pages about living people. Wikipedia has strict guidance on these, which you can read here WP:BLP. Generally, social class information is not included in articles as it is subjective and can be pejorative. There might be an exception in cases where the subject themselves has talked about it, supported by reliable sources, and where it is relevant to the article. |→ Spaully ~talk~

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Osmanabad district, but you didn't provide a reliable source that was relevant to the change you made. The source you provided talked about a change to the official name of the city of Osmanabad. It did not mention Osmanabad district. Your edit has been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can discuss it on the article talk page. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 15:17, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please tell me which article are you pointing out to? Thanks. ChaitanyaJo (talk) 07:54, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your most recent edits at Udhayanidhi & Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. His statements were made as a figure of speech. He also says that he is a Muslim in the same line. What you are doing here violates Wikipedia's policy of Wikipedia:No original research.
Also never add any of the sources you added here anywhere on Wikipedia articles. There are not considered as WP:RELIABLE by Wikipedia's standards.
Once you are reverted, you are not supposed to add the content again before a consensus is reached, this is considered as WP:EDITWARRING and will lead to block. - SUN EYE 1 18:00, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have watched the entire video again as per your suspicions of it being a figure of speech. Udhayanidhi indeed says that he is a Muslim too and i apologise for that. But later in the video, He clearly says that he married a Christian woman who is Kiruthiga. So, Isn't a husband referring to his wife's religion proof enough? Rest asssured, I will not revert or edit any more details until this issue is resolved. Thanks. ChaitanyaJo (talk) 04:02, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It does not belong in Udhayanidhi's article. People's religion, social group, gender etc.. are only reported in Wikipedia only if they are self-identified by the person in WP:RS. So, Kiruthiga's religion belongs in her article only if she herself (not her husband) has self-identified her religion and is widely reported by recent reliable sources. - SUN EYE 1 06:49, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So, Is it considered a reliable source to add the religion to Kiruthiga's article? ChaitanyaJo (talk) 06:57, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose you are talking about the sources you recently added, no, none of them are considered reliable, see WP:QUESTIONABLE. For a list of sources based on their reliability, see WP:RS/P. Note that the source must have Kiruthiga's own self-admission of her religion and none of the weblinks you added has it (although being unreliable). - SUN EYE 1 07:50, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. ChaitanyaJo (talk) 10:45, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DOB reference confusion of Neeraj Madhav

[edit]

Hi Chaitanya, your reference provided in association with Malayali Brahmin is not challenged, more of the date of birth you have added with that content is what confuses me. As in mentioned reference, there has been no mention of the date of birth but you have provided that new info in your edit. That's why I reverted the edit. The DOB shouldn't be provided if there is there no reference associated with it to verify.

Cheers, Aadirulez8 (talk) 11:51, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for the misunderstanding. In my latest revision as of today, is there any fault regarding the dob now? ChaitanyaJo (talk) 12:09, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I see there is reference associated with DOB in infobox, so there is no issue in mentioning in section Early life.
Although the year is not provided in reference, something to be fixed soon but your edit is alright, fits well with the reference. Aadirulez8 (talk) 12:49, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for confirming! Have a good day. ChaitanyaJo (talk) 14:30, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that that adding indic scripts only to the infoxbox was not allowed. Now that you clarify it, i understand that it is not allowed in the article in general. Along with the indic scripts of all the people I had added yesterday, I had also added a pronunciation for all of them. Since you have reverted my edits in all of the of the articles, I am free to re-add the pronunciations without the indic scripts right? ChaitanyaJo (talk) 03:04, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. It's particularly disturbing that in this edit you not only violated WP:CASTEID but added caste and community-information that was not supported by the source you cited despite your edit-summary falsely claiming Added a detail with citation Abecedare (talk) 16:52, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In this edit too you added details to a BLP that violated WP:CASTEID and were not supported by the cited source. I see that you have been warned about such conduct before. Any more of this and you'll face a topic-ban from India-related articles and/or BLPs. Abecedare (talk) 17:01, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of K. Annamalai

[edit]

Hello, ChaitanyaJo,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username BoyTheKingCanDance, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, K. Annamalai, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|BoyTheKingCanDance}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

@BoyTheKingCanDance: Hi! I concur with your decision. Please do the needful as per the required terms. Thank You! ChaitanyaJo (talk) 12:38, 9 June 2023 (UTC) Chaitanya[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on K Annamalai requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K. Annamalai (I.P.S). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 15:51, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@AngusWOOF:I have contested the deletion and listed out my reasons on the talk page. Please let me know about the next steps. Thanks ChaitanyaJo (talk) 16:55, 9 June 2023 (UTC) Chaitanya[reply]
See the previous discussions I have placed on the talk page. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 17:28, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on K. Annamalai (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Caste

Caste can only be mentioned in a WP:BLP if the person self-identifies it in an interview in a reliable source per WP:CASTEID policy. Information icon Hello, I'm Archer1234. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Rajinikanth filmography, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Per WP:FILMOGRAPHY, we do not add future film projects until filming has begun as verified by a reliable source.

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:48, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
