- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Request reason:
When I added Timereaction to the list of other collaborative workflow solutions, I did not realize that I had to have a contributing page adding content to the Wikipedia community. I researched how to create content, and saw that it was more complex, and would take more time than I currently had, so immediately removed Timereaction until I had more time to be a contributing member.
Decline reason:
I think you're misunderstanding two things. First, part of your block is because your user name appears to represent an organisation. See the big sandy coloured box above. Second, YOU don't have to have a page. For a subject to be in a Wikipedia list, there should be an article about it in Wikipedia. That's not the same. Dell don't own the article about them (for example), and we have battles at times with some companies and individuals over who controls an article. The point is that Wikipedia is not a collection of links. There is no real index to Wikipedia, unlike print encyclopaedias. With about four and a half million articles, we rely on the search bar and Lists that direct people to articles in a particular topic. They aren't supposed to be link farms for outside sites. They're not all-inclusive, but an easily maintained substitute for an index. Peridon (talk) 16:44, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Making simple edits isn't hard. The further you get into it, the more complicated it gets. I'm an admin, but I've never merged two articles or uploaded an image. (Probably wouldn't pass the current procedure. I do what I know about (which is a step on from what I was doing), and learn other things when I have to...) To have an article, a company must pass WP:CORP and be referenced to reliable independent sources WP:RS. I realise that you weren't aware of the restriction on lists, but the name is a problem for us. (Wouldn't be on the German Wikipedia, where they have rules that are rather different to most of the other Wikipedias.) There are people who like to help newcomers, and we're (most of us...) willing to answer questions and give opinions. Just don't ask for a loan... Peridon (talk) 16:52, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
I thank you for explaining your reasons. The only reason I use our organization name is because it is easier to remember than " is my username d****r, d****r99 or d****_99" dependent on the rules that many sites give. And if you did notice, the moment I realized that I was in violation of your rules, I immediately deleted it, so my intent was not to commercialize or advertise. If you still feel that based on these neophyte errors I should be blocked, use the power you have and do so. I have lived without editing Wikipedia in all the years you have existed, and am sure that I can survive without it.

- I'm moving your posts down because we usually work downwards. I accept that you made a mistake. I'd have no problem unblocking you for a name change. Our rules are very clear on that one. However, so long as a name isn't already taken we're fairly free and easy otherwise. You mustn't appear to be a bot, an admin or an official, or be offensive (which is discussable as some Indian names contain nazi, and fag is not offensive in Brit and other forms of English but is in American), and you shouldn't label yourself as a troll (some trolls actually do that). There is leeway on most of this - ramsbottom might get picked up by the bot that reports names, but this would be overruled by any passing admin at WP:UAA. Apart from that, we don't like names such as 'rtrytfgvgghtrt', which are damned hard to remember anyway. We have an editor (once an admin) called 'Boing! said Zebedee', and there's one called 'Σ'. You can call yourself 'Jarrod the Aardvark' and no-one will worry (as I don't think we have many aardvarks editing here yet). I don't recommend using your real name, as outside problems might ensue (but usually don't), and don't call yourself 'Kylie Minogue' or anyone else real famous and real and near unique. Post the spamun template with a name in it, and see if it's available by clicking 'preview' instead of save, then clicking the check availability thing. If it's taken, just keep going till you get one you can remember and which is available. Then save. If there's a problem with your choice, I or someone will tell you. Thanks for your prompt response, and f it's as easy as changing my user name, please unblock me and I will do it,
Regards, Timereaction (talk) 18:29, 17 August 2014 (UTC)Allan
- Use the spamun template from the blocking notice - that way you get to check availability, and I or someone will be able to check suitability. Saves time, in the long run. Peridon (talk) 18:56, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Just copy it straight off the notice, then replace the words with what needs to go in. New name goes in the first bit and put the reason 'name change' in the second bit. Leave the pipes where they are - and do preview and check first. Peridon (talk) 19:00, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
Please find below the name change request.
