Deletion Review: Tiffany Alvord
Hello. I see you deleted a musician named Tiffany Alvord for lack of notability in 2011. I believe she now meets notability requirements. On New Years Eve (a few days ago) she did a live performance on the Nivea Stage in Times Square [1], which I saw announced on E! News (tv) and covered by some newspapers and blogs (e.g. Billboard[2]). I think she may reach notability in other ways as well (international tour/press conference, coverage in domestic/international magazines, etc).
Wikipedia:Deletion_review suggests discussing the matter with the closing administrator as a first course of action. What would you recommend? I can update and reference the article with new info if needed.

Hey there! I went to create an article for Todd Fisher, the actor and director. I noticed that there was an article under the title Todd Fisher (actor) that you deleted last month due to lack of asserted importance/significance. I don't know if the subject of this article is the same Todd Fisher about whom I am working on an article. I'm hoping you will send me a copy of the deleted article to take a look. I appreciate your help. Cindy(talk to me) 12:25, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Maybe, hard to tell. The entire content of the deleted article was "Todd Fisher son of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher brother of Carrie Fisher." -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:09, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Message from Reddevilfan88
Hi right I'm very new to this so refrain from accusing me of trying to vandalise wikipedia information, as I'm still learning how to edit information so its correct or add relevant information. I would like your help please as I've tried to change the simple things like the heights of British Heavyweight Boxer Richard Towers and Manchester United Goalkeeper David De Gea as Richard Towers is clearly not as tall as 6ft8 on several pictures I've seen so don't know why thats said as his official height. As on a picture with him shoulder to shoulder with Wladimir Klitschko whos 6f6 with both stood up straight he looks an inch smaller, but he may of been leaning a little bit but his real height is between 6ft5 and 6ft6, as on another example on a picture with American Heavyweight Boxer Deontay Wilder whos 6ft7 is clearly at least 2 inchs taller than Towers on a picture with them and other sparring partners at Wladimir Klitschkos training camp. Also its very obvious and clear for anyone to see David De Gea is not as tall as 6ft4 hes 6ft2 if that hes at the same height as Manchester United Captain Nemanji Vidic and Rio Ferdinand whos 6ft3 is clearly at least an inch taller than David De Gea who wikipedia has got as 6ft4. So would like to know why 2 simple alterations like this have been removed 3 times now when there both correct alterations? also how am i ment to add proof to back what I've put is correct?? as I tried before and wasn't working, also can you not use pictures as proof of the persons height from them being next to a person whos height is verified? as alot of information even on popular and official sites can be unreliable especially on peoples heights. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reddevilfan88 (talk • contribs) 00:00, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

The deletion of the page EVENTulish
I am in no way advertising a business or anything like that. I live in Jamaica and Seamanto Leslie has made her parish proud by rising from poverty to open a business to help out the youths her in getting jobs.
My classmates and I have been asked for an essay on EVENTulish for our English class and finding out information is hard because it is not an actual business place. 5 of us have gotten the information but now other schools in the parish have been assigning students to do essays on her and my teacher said that she couldnt even find a page on wikipedia so i came home and decided to make one. it might not seem relevant to you but here, where i live in jamaica, its a big deal and i would appreciate it if you put the page i created back up — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siana101 (talk • contribs) 23:02, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Gogo Dodo,
I am a Taiwanese Wikipedian who mainly edits at Chinese Wikipedia since 2008. Thank You for kindly helping protect my user/talk page. I do need the protection you granted as I am a rollbacker and often confront with at least one long-term abuser among others. With lots of new IPs and accounts, this suspected person (very likely from China) vandalizes various articles these three months again and again. I was already targeted many times. Thanks and Have a Wonderful 2013!

- You will need to establish why the website is notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia and address the issues brought up during the deletion discussion. The deletion discussion consensus was that all of the references in the article were press releases and not independent of the subject. Your reposted article does not address those issues and continues to use press releases as references. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:52, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks for updating me about the post I made. I was not aware that I was stepping over the line and violated rules. I will not post about company information as I do see that is a violation. However, I do want to keep my user name as I like my user name. What do I need to do to be able to assist others and others posts from here on out? This is all new to me so I will need to sit down and do some reading.
Thanks again,

I am really not sure of your background so I won't assume, but people like you are the reason most students cannot cite wiki as a source when doing a report.
Propagating false information should be a crime, especially when people rely on wikipedia for information that is correct.
Please explain why you would delete factual information.
I work at USSOCOM and have spent 30 years in the special operations community.
I have consulted with many people abut this page, SOT-A, in general and it should really just be deleted because it is so incorrect in what it states.
Not sure why I am wasting my efforts on you, perhaps in hopes to educate you and prevent you from misinforming others.
Please explain your actions.

Thank you for your response. I understand all that you have said and it makes sense, thank you.
Since the article is not cited and, from personal experiece, not correct and therefore not citeable, why is the page there?
The only two things that are cited are the title (that you cited), the mission, and the organization; All of the other stuff is incorrect.
Why don't we add the Support title as an alternate so people know that there are different sources stating different title. I will find a current document stating support (I work at SOCOM so I should be able to get you a pretty good source)
Or just delete the page for lack of citation.

Editing a Page that I have good information and references on
Greetings,
I need to add some things to the Asatru in the United States Page. I have been a Heathen for 15 years. However, a friend told me that if that page is changed Christian mods will delete it and the references. I have seen the conversation he had with those mods, and I understand said opinion. Individual has a tendency to be a Jackass, it is a trait I share. I would like to put these important edits in without pissing off Christians who hate Heathens. I am asking for help. How do I add those things?
I live in Kansas City, I have the New Paper Articles on Mark Stinson being Charged with stealing 75,000 from his own mother.
I also have access to published Heathen Laws, acknowledges by multiple Asatru and Heathen Groups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heathenpride (talk • contribs) 21:42, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

I am former Law Enforcement, and the way it looked to me, is they attacked first. In response, he became a worse Jackass, defending himself. I have never used Wikipedia before. How do I link the source material? Is there a special way to use HTML? Then how do I create a page for the Wild Hunt Order, without someone saying that an International Group that helps Pagan and Heathen Soldiers with PTSD and Teaches Martial Arts to them, is not of value, then deleting it? I apologize, I am still a little angry, that a group that was instrumental in helping me and several friends with the things we have seen, was disrespected like that. - Thanks for the talkback, it must have slipped through the proverbal net of me check my watchlist.
- (Just to clarify - I asked you because you were the one who semi'd it.) I ask because it might encourage non-(auto)confirmed editors to contribute, and will certainly mean they won't need to file edit requests. Another option might be to unprotect and then go to PC if there is any vandalism. If you'd rather I can post on WP:RFPP to get at least one opinion from another admin? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 04:59, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I remember semi-protecting and I figured that was why you asked me. I honestly have not looked into PC very much which is why I have no opinion on the matter. However, I would oppose the unprotection of the article or any article related to My Chemical Romance with the plan of reinstating it or changing to PC should vandalism occur post unprotection. The article and related articles should never been unprotected. The articles all have a long history of constant vandalism. For whatever reason they have a lot of haters that like to vandalize the articles. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:11, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'll give you an opinion from a talk page stalker: semi-protection is invariably better than PC. PC is a complicated annoyance that should be avoided except in exceptional cases.—Kww(talk) 05:14, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I agree to a certain extent re PC, it can be useful except where a page is being vandalised regularly (even once a day). Gogo, what about unprotecting and we'll see how it goes, then either make a call for another indef semi or PC? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 09:07, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- As my previous comment said: No, I would oppose such unprotection. All My Chemical Romance related articles receive too much vandalism, especially of the BLP type. Lifting semiprotection would be a big mistake. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:48, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Re: Blocking of Heyyallwasup?
Hi,
I am enquiring the reasons for the blocking of Heyyallwasup?, instead of an outright ban.
A check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&user=Heyyallwasup%3F shows that the account was created just before the user's string of vandalism actions. This clearly shows a vandalism-only account, which should call for banning. Optakeover(Talk) 06:02, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- I take you mean an indefinite block versus a ban. As for why not, I was feeling charitable at the moment of the block? They're blocked now and if they return they can always be reblocked. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:07, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- Understood. Thank you for your clarification and correction. Optakeover(Talk) 06:10, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Message from Monicadriver
Hello Gogo Dodo,
I am trying to write an article about a smart phone app thought up as a means of aiding fan participation in the sport of horse racing. It is an entertainment app and was not designed to make money. Kenny McPeek is a well known horse trainer concerned that the sport is losing fans. It used to have the largest fan base of any sport and this is no longer true. He thought up and decided to launch an app using new technology. I feel it needs to be part of Wikipedia.
How can I do this without stepping on toes?

Link removed
Hi There - I see you removed the link I created. I'm on the fence about the reason, this is the guideline I assume you used to make your decision..."Links mainly intended to promote a website". The existing link is there to promote a website, the owner of the site is monetizing with blatant ads all over the page. What's the difference? I think if you're going to remove my link, which has a relevant article pertaining to the topic, then the existing link should also be removed because it is promoting a website.

Bryan Safi of Current TV removed
Hi, Thanks for having all this info about the how and why of being a moderator of wikipedia. I was reading up on Current TV, because I loved the web series done by Bryan Safi "That's Gay," and I wanted to know what else there was to know about the Current. Bryan's page has been removed, and I find this unfortunate. I recognize that he is not as notable as an Al Gore, or Keith Olbermann, or even Cenk Uygur of web fame. However, to me and the many people that have seen his videos, I feel that he talked about contemporary GLBT issues in a way that both moved the conversation forward and gave levity to sometimes very difficult topics. Please reconsider the removal of his page.
Thank you,
Chris — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.28.162 (talk) 08:01, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- The article was deleted back in 2011 because there was very little content to it and it did not clearly establish his notability. The article was only a single sentence long stating that he was the host of InfoMania That's Gay. You are welcome to create an account and write a new article for him. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:38, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
Google Hacks
Hi. I found a number of refs for Google Hacks (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), and have included a couple within the article. I believe that notability is now established and so have dePRODed it. Cheers. (No need to reply on my talk page, as indicated in your header here.) -- Trevj (talk) 07:57, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
2012 Burgas bus bombing
Pursuant to the discussion to delete 'International reactions to the 2012 Burgas bus bombing', the community voted to merge the article into '2012 Burgas bus bombing'. I have now taken the content I believe worthy of keeping and transferred it to the host article. As the AfD was a non-admin closure, I would like to formally ask you to merge the articles' histories. Thanks, -- Ohconfucius ping / poke 06:21, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- If the close was determined to be merge with a history merge, it should have not been a non-admin closure as the closing editor would not be able to perform the merge.
- I don't normally do history merges and would prefer not to do them. Instead, please request the merge at WP:SPLICE. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Usually, the closing admin would do it; I don't do it often enough to know where to go for help. -- Ohconfucius ping / poke 04:09, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Help with user:221.12.232.98
Hello. Sorry to bother you. However, I'm already troubled by 221.12.232.98 (talk · contribs) who seems to be stressing their edit on List of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch characters article, seemingly doing some edit warring without knowing about it. I've already arranged the grammar of that user's last edit and even told the guy through the comments box to speak about their qualms in the article talk page. I don't know if the user's hard-headed or not, but that my edit rearranging the grammar was reverted as well, again stressing their additions. Can you tell him for me? Removal
You deleted my contribution, link:http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sunny_Isles_Beach,_Florida&oldid=537602251
I do not beleive my contribution is invalid or falls under any of this:
Citation spam
Shortcuts: WP:REFSPAM WP:CITESPAM Citation spamming is the illegitimate or improper use of citations, footnotes or references. Citation spamming is a form of search engine optimization or promotion that typically involves the repeated insertion of a particular citation or reference in multiple articles by a single contributor. Often these are added not to verify article content but rather to populate numerous articles with a particular citation. Variations of citation spamming include the removal of multiple valid sources and statements in an article in favor of a single, typically questionable or low-value, web source. Citation spamming is a subtle form of spam and should not be confused with legitimate good-faith additions intended to verify article content and help build the encyclopedia.
I have nothing but good intentions for this contribution and it is legit information directly from the MLS, the same MLS that feeds information to Zillow and Trulia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.189.190.216 (talk) 05:11, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
- Your reference was a subtle method of driving traffic to a real estate agency, which you appear to have conflict of interest. Additionally, the use of home purchases for a single year is a poor representation of the demographics of the entire city, which is what the demographics section is supposed to be for. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:13, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
Destructive deletion of new user's work, with no opportunity to edit
I added some ommitted content from the AVSIM.COM page, which without it, was highly biased and clearly written by an inobjective fan of AVSIM.COM. You have deleted my content due to lack of citations. I find it unbelievable that, rather than giving people (especially people new to Wiki like myself) a chance to edit and add to their work, you just delete it. That is so destructive and counter-intuitive.
I will be suspending my financial support to Jimmy Wales that has been in place for 3 years as a result of this - because I just cannot believe that you think it is acceptable to just delete content that people have spent hours writing (in good faith), because it required a few more citations. Shame on you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abrahar (talk • contribs)

Hello!
Thank you for the welcome! My first contact with a human volunteer behind the Wikipedia curtain. Since you have my attention... I am considering starting a biography of a living person, and am currently reading quite a number of pages on procedures and guidelines. I saw him speak today at a home show, though it's not the first time. His name is Tim Carter (not one of several already on Wikipedia), and I suppose you could call me a fan. I find him quite fascinating. He writes a weekly newsletter that he sends to 100,000 subscribers, has a huge information website called askthebuilder.com, has a column in a bunch of newspapers, and is one of the Davids that tried to take on the Google Goliath (and failed). Intriguing more in that he has provided little snippets of his life and accomplishments over the years in various forms, but there is no one place where they can all be found. I think it would be cool for the groupness of Wikipedia to get together to describe him.
My question for you, as you appear to be an expert on these sorts of things, is whether he is notable enough for me to take the time to research and write about him? I expect that once I start something, his fans and others will add to it to paint a picture of the man. Or will the article just be deleted as not notable enough? Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide.
