Notability of Sebastian Cole
A tag has been placed on Sebastian Cole requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SOL Basic 21:04, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Image without license
Unspecified source/license for Image:SamPic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SamPic.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 01:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Sebastian Cole again
Hi, KDS4444 - You might mention to Mr. Cole that, if he really wants, he should look in to the WP:OTRS system. As it stands, he's won an AVN award, so he's WP:N notable. Unless there's something defamatory or a copyvio in his article, it probably won't get deleted. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 17:35, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Sebastian Cole
I have nominated Sebastian Cole, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sebastian Cole. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. – iridescent 16:03, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
OTRS
OTRS ("Opensource Ticket Request System") is the system where people who need to confirm their identities to us can do so – either as in this case, to request deletion of material or point out errors, or to give permission for us to use material they own the copyright to. You can access it via the menu of options at Wikipedia:Contact us, or read about how the process works at WP:OTRS. – iridescent 21:45, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jess winfield.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Jess winfield.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Talk:Hydraulic brake. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 07:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Diplazium
Hi, I stumbled across your question to Jaknouse (talk · contribs) about the classification of the fern genus Diplazium. I looked this up in the Smith 2006 paper (now cited there) and found out that: (1) Diplazium is probably paraphyletic (which means that it may well be split up or expanded in the future, although as far as I know this hasn't happened yet), and (2) the family Woodsiaceae as recognized in Smith is quite possibly paraphyletic, although Smith 2006 considers the evidence to not yet be clear (even if it is to be split, one has to know how to split it). Given this, I'm not sure there are any clear answers (one way or the other), and if so wikipedia should just note the uncertainty and try not to take a position too much one way or the other. Of course, if there is published data which is newer/better than what I'm basing this on, it might change things. Kingdon (talk) 16:13, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:NoHoMap-KDS.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:NoHoMap-KDS.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 04:00, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
HS1
Don't know where you are getting your info on the HS1, but it's almost entirely wrong. HS1 is not new, it's been in ECE Regulation 37 and in production for many decades. It is not a replacement at the design or service level for H4 or any other bulb type. It is not "the standard bulb for new two-wheeled vehicles" in the USA or any other country. The H4 is not "older styled" than the HS1. The base keying differences between P43t (H4) and PX43t (HS1) have nothing to do with pins or sockets. Please try to contribute only factually accurate, verifiable information supported with appropriate citations to Wikipedia; in this case the information is very simple to get so there's really no reason to substitute what appear to be random, half-informed guesses. 20:26, 17 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.26.89.104 (talk)
I understand your indignation. My apologies. Here is at least one of my sources: http://www.boschindia.com/content/language1/html/7812.htm. Perhaps you should consider notifying this manufacturer that their information is wrong as well. Thanks. -- KDS4444Talk 02:16, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- The error was not the manufacturer's, it was yours. The information you found applies only to India, which very recently began phasing in the application of ECE Regulation 37. The text on the page you found described a market situation in India, not a state of the technical art in general. Even there, "new" is not accurate; HS1 bulbs were in wide use in motorcycles in India the last time I was there scrutinizing the local mobile lighting industry five years ago. It seems the page you found is out of date. Nevertheless, my objection remains: please don't just parrot what you think you understand of a website you happen to find. If you do not know enough about the subject to be sure whether what you found is accurate at all, and/or is accurate in the whole world or only in a particular part of it, please raise the issue on the talk page. Thanks. 17:05, 23 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.139.239 (talk)

Criticality accident
I put some references on the talk page you might like to include in the article!
--Stone (talk) 20:18, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- I Read some articles on the Tickling the Dragons Tail experiments and was always wondering who might be that stupid to pile up enough material that it becomes critical, but after reading I found out that some times things go a little wrong and if you deal with normal' stuff you say ooops and every thing is OK, in nuclear chain reaction experiments you see the blue flash. Buy the way do you know the film where one guy steps up in front of a party, opens a case and smashes two uranium or plutonium spheres together above his head?
- Your article came up on a watch list User:AlexNewArtBot/ChemistrySearchResult of chemistry related articles and I always do a little incoming inspections on the new article there (except the BLPs).
--Stone (talk) 13:13, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree that the seeming margin of error combined with the high cost of such errors makes nuclear chemistry an "interesting" place to be. The idea of a demon core and of tickling the tail of a sleeping dragon are both romantic and vividly accurate representations of this delicacy. I wish I could read the full text of the first reference article you gave me, the one by P.S. Harris from 1961-- sadly, it appears to only be available to people with institutional or personal memberships (I don't suppose YOU have access to the article??). It is so frustrating to want more scientific/ historical information only to be hindered by a price tag! KDS4444Talk 14:02, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hey! Guess what?? Someone found and gave me a copy of the required article today and I am thrilled! Thank you again for pointing this out to me and for placing the original article request. Am dancing on the air. KDS4444Talk 05:38, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Tesseraction Games
I commented on your AFD. I suggest the article be deleted and all relevant information be merged with the article on their game. Which interested party did I interact with, by the way? Krashlandon (talk) 15:21, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ooooo, now, I hate it when this happens: I tried to retrace my footsteps to the reference to Tesseraction Games on your talk page, but could not find it there... Which means I very well might have seen it mentioned (and disparaged) on someone else's talk page and then later, when writing my proposal for deletion, recollected that it was you. But it seems there is no evidence to support this belief, and now I am left wondering who it was that led me thus. So my apologies for mistaking you for whoever else it actually was, but my thanks for adding your voice to the discussion anyway. I guess the old gray matter is more thin that I realized. Hi, I have just had to revert your edit on Cutty Sark because in the process of doing it you deleted 95% of the page (it went from 26kb to 2kb, so maybe my percentage figure is wrong, but you'll get the idea <g>) Not quite sure how you did this without spotting it but, regardless, feel free to go back in there and re-enter whatever your edit may have been. It'll still be there in the history and so if you really did intend it you can copy/paste from that to save a bit of typing. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 17:32, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yikes! I had no idea! Thank you for undoing me-- I will try to replace my previous rather-small modification with greater care. But more importantly, how does this stuff happen?? I've been on Wikipedia for three years and this has happened to be twice in the past month! I suspect something in Windows is to blame. In any case, thank you and well done. Pamphlet
Thanks for the image at Is the School House the Proper Place to Teach Raw Sex?, but are you sure it's licensed properly? I see that you put it under a CC public domain license, but wouldn't the original still be in copyright? Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 16:29, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have wondered about this sort of issue myself for some time... If I generate an image of a copyrighted image, is the image I generate also considered copyrighted? And I do not know the answer to that question. Do you?? KDS4444Talk 17:22, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm fairly sure that an image of a copyrighted cover is copyrighted. (On the other hand, merely taking an image of a two-dimensional non-copyrighted work does not constitute artistic input sufficient to create copyright. Learn something new every day!) It could conceivably be fair use, so if you want to go about doing that, more power to you. Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 17:29, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well, then, let's see if it stands, shall we? I think there's also a method of claiming fair use of a copyrighted imaged based on the unique, unreproduceable nature of the image and the idea that the information contained in the image could not be generated in any way other than using the original image itself (the Wikipedia article on the Mediterranean dromon contains an image that is justified on these terms, I believe). In either case, I think there might be a fair use argument. And the article certainly lacks completion without having the image of the pamphlet included with it. KDS4444Talk 17:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I agree. The license on the image would still have to be changed, though. Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 17:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 17:22, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Why did you proposed that this article be deleted? He was a Ukrainian footballer who played at top level from 1990-99.Ceriy (talk) 13:01, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- I proposed it for deletion because, as I noted in my comments, the article included no citations and no explanation as to why this individual was at all notable. As it stands, the only reference now in the article is one in Ukrainian, not English. Perhaps an article about his individual belongs in the Ukrainian Wikipedia and not the English one-- a citation in a foreign language is not verifiable to an English-speaking audience, and therefore is of limited use here. Would you consider moving the article? KDS4444Talk 06:42, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

- Got your messages. With regard to the second item first, I did not intend to suggest that foreign language references should not be permitted in the English Wikipedia, but when the only reference in an article is in a foreign language that I (and most English Wikipedia users) cannot read (in this case, Ukranian, I believe), then the reference does not seem to meet the criterion of being verifiable-- and therefore the article might be better located in (and restricted to) a wikipedia of that language specifically rather than in the English one where the reference (again, the only reference) is in a foreign tongue that English speakers cannot verify. Please let me know if that makes sense. It made sense to me at the time. As I re-think it, I still feel that way. You?? And Blue Jays... We are capitalizing them now? I missed that somehow in the ornithological literature. My bad. Sorry. KDS4444Talk 16:25, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 4
Hi. When you recently edited Resistor, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ohms (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:51, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Cliff Parker (English football), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Cliff Parker. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 03:09, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

April 2012
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Cliff Parker a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. The Devil in Drag
I've deleted and restored, there shouldn't be any non-visible edits now. What, if anything, do you think should be done about the article? It's by an author even I have heard of, and although it's self-serving on the part of the translator, it's not actually spam. Nevertheless, there is no assertion of why the play, as opposed to its author, is notable, it's basically a plot summary. I don't think it can be speedied, so it's probably AfD or nothing. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:49, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Jim: I've been mulling this over in my mind for more than a week now, giving it probably far more attention than it deserves. But I now have some settled thoughts, and wanted to share with you:
- 1.) The article has been moved to "The Devil in Drag" as opposed to its original title, "The Devil with Boobs." As ridiculous as the latter is, it appears that it is the actual title under which the play has been produced in the U.S. Weirdly, I happen to live just a few short blocks down the street from the Open Fist Theater Company which is one of the companies which has actually produced the play (and done so under its "boobs" title). "The Devil in Drag" is not a play by Dario Fo— "The Devil with Boobs", however, is (ugh) and this means the article should probably be re-titled/ moved back to its original location under "The Devil with Boobs" (I have never done such a move backwards— do you know how?).
- 2.) I have found no evidence as yet that the play is noteworthy as a stand-alone piece, and even less evidence that the translator warrants any notability. I wonder, though, as a play written by a Nobel prize winner, if it does not deserve an article for reasons of authorship alone. My guess is that it probably does (even if the play itself is rather ridiculous and even if it is an insignificant piece of literature, which I am not altogether certain it is).
- If these things make sense to you, then it would probably be best if the article were moved back to "The Devil with Boobs," and then left as it is (without further deletion consideration/ discussion). For now. But I look forward to your thoughts— please get in touch. Thank you! KDS4444Talk 01:19, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Moved back to Boobs, otherwise just an mos fix; it's not bad enough for deletion, so I'd leave untagged Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:52, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

- Hmm. Looks like I may have enough here to justify an article after all. The article on highbeam.com doesn't mention StageQ as far down as I was able to read. Does it eventually? Nothing like being the target of Catholic moralizing to earn notability. Thank you for all your help on this! KDS4444Talk 23:11, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- Well, those were all on Highbeam, but yes, they all eventually mention it. The passing mentions such as show notices won't really establish notability, but they don't hurt to bolster it or to flesh out the article once it has been established. You might want to take the 7-day trial membership on Highbeam, or apply for one of the memberships they donate to Wikipedia. LeadSongDog come howl! 04:50, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Pogrom
Hi there, i just saw your edits. There are a group of editors on this page who will likely revert you shortly. If you have time to get involved in a talk discussion on the page it would be very helpful, as I have been alone trying to bring some rational balance to the page for over a year without success. I even tried to get some rationality into a separate page (User:Oncenawhile/Definitions of Pogrom), which was speared by the same group of editors. Oncenawhile (talk) 19:36, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- I take it you mainly mean my removal of the reference to the 38CE "pogrom" in Alexandria (I didn't think most of my edits were much other than stylistic or informative, but this particular one certainly was). It was, of course, unsourced to begin with, and though I initially was only going to add a citation-needed tag, the (in my mind) ridiculousness of using the term in that context made me take the bolder step of simply removing it as the creative thinking of some new editor who was not familiar with the Wikipedia process of substantiating claims, especially controversial ones like that. I do understand, however, that the topic of pogroms is a very sensitive one, and that rationality can be a difficult voice to maintain in the face of so much historic carnage, especially if one feels personally connected to that history (which, other than as a student of history, I do not). I will have a look at the talk page you mentioned and see what I can see... I DO know that I AM rather personally connected to my work here on Wikipedia, and having it undone sometimes does cause me to lose a certain amount rationality, which is a character flaw of mine, I admit. Thank you for giving me heads-up on this. I do appreciate the notification. KDS4444Talk 04:11, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Luminous flux units
Thanks for the table you added to Luminous flux. There is something missing though: you don't say what units are used for luminous flux in this table. The values are only useful if their units are specified.--Srleffler (talk) 03:42, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- I thought that the units were a given, as the lumen is the SI unit of measurement of luminous flux. But I have modified the table to account for this. Please let me know if you'd be willing to remove the factuality-disputed tag. Thanks! KDS4444Talk 03:58, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I removed the tag. Units are never a given. Values of physical quantities always need to have their units specified. SI is not the only system of units, and even within SI the units could be a multiple (klm, mlm, etc.)--Srleffler (talk) 04:11, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Re your message - you are most welcome, it was sincerely meant. BTW I just checked out your userpage and saw you wrote the article on the Cecil Kelley incident. - I wonder what the odds are of someone noticing and commenting on one of my pictures AND reading the article I (largely though not exclusively) wrote on poor Cecil Kelly? Hm. Seems small to me! And all the more flattering for that. I consider the Kelly article to probably be the best written and best researched (and, really, the most important) of the 50-odd articles I've put together for Wikipedia. If you were going to read anything I had written, I would have chosen that article. Needless to say, seeing your username made me think about it again for a bit... All that plutonium! So, thank you. I am very pleased the information was useful and interesting for you! KDS4444Talk 00:44, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
About Alexa and WP:Notability:
I've kludged a fix into place. I clarified the sentence in WP:Notability a bit to compensate for the material I stripped from the Alexa article. I also adjusted the link to point to the Toolbar section on Alexa Internet so that people can read about its limitations (in the current revision) up front. Hope that helps some. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. Danny Sepley (talk) 22:16, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- You know, I was just thinking the other day about this issue and was remembering that I had not checked back to follow up on it nor to see if you had ever read or responded to my remarks about the link to the Alexa article. How very nice it was to discover your comment here on my talk page this evening-- when you set a hundred wheels in motion on Wikipedia some of them will keep turning long after you have failed to check on their rotation or inertia. So three things, then: first, an apology from me for not checking back on this with you: I was remiss in my editorial duties, and you have prompted me to finally finish the job. Second, I have now gone back and looked at the article in question, and I now see nothing at all amiss-- it seems you seamlessly fixed the problem I had spotted, for which I will now express my (third item) thanks to you, Danny. I appreciate you taking my inquiry with such seriousness and pursuing me to make sure all was, in the end, well. Which it is. KDS4444Talk 02:40, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, don't apologize! It really was out of your hands (and in mine) at that point. You're very welcome; I'm just glad that I didn't leave much to be desired. (The formalism of some Wikipedians scares off the general public sometimes.) I also appreciate your patience; thank you for holding out for me. Also: I thought meatpuppets were collections of newish editors who come on to Wikipedia to get involved in article disputes and the like— I get the idea that the distinction between meat and sock is that the latter is supposedly derived from a single person (is that distinction correct? Is there anything more than that?). I also get the idea that there is no context for submitting meatpuppet suspects since they can't really be traced back to a single user account anywhere. Has anyone considered having a "Morning277 Suspects" page set up with a list of criteria and summary administrative execution of the easily convicted who offer no defense? Am curious. KDS4444Talk 09:09, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Well, since we're positive that these are multiple people, they are technically meatpuppets, and CU confirms this and thus is nearly worthless here. That doesn't mean that we can't still block them; we certainly can, but it's technically not sockpuppeting and thus SPI isn't the best place; also, the mass numbers of accounts just couldn't be handled by our system. --09:13, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- ...And in the end I suppose it doesn't really matter much, does it: since most Morning277 accounts (including those I just reported) are abandoned once they have met their sinister purpose, formally deleting them or blocking them isn't likely to be noticed by anyone, even the account creators. Maybe I should just stick to addressing the articles themselves and leave the associated user accounts to wither on their own (and not bother SPI with them— sorry about that!). KDS4444Talk 09:22, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- An argument could be made that if the account isn't blocked, G5 isn't available. —rybec 23:11, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, so. Then what is to be done? Anything? I am very interested in following most current and correct procedure if/ when it has been ordained. KDS4444Talk 02:14, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

This appears to already be a featured picture, so no action needed. But, long story short on your question, renomination is fine, it's considered best to link to the previous nom and briefly state why you think it was wrong. Adam Cuerden (talk) 05:28, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- Weird. I could have sworn that I looked at it and saw the failed vote count. But when I look at it now, you are correct, of course. Just weird. Anyhow, no worries and good to know about renomination. Thanks! KDS4444Talk 16:30, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, then, wait: what is this?? This is what threw me... and still does a bit. KDS4444Talk 16:36, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
- That's an FP nomination for Wikimedia Commons, a separate process. It does not affect the image's status on the English Wikipedia. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:20, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Just to check, are you supporting the original or Alt 1? (or both) Adam Cuerden (talk) 06:03, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- Clarified-— thanks for pointing this out to me. KDS4444Talk 16:30, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for September 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Spotting (filmography), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Musical score (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

POTD
Hi KDS, if you want File:Caenorhabditis elegans hermaphrodite adult-en.svg or another image on the MP you just need to ping me. I'll pretty much always (unless there's a good reason) prioritize images which are requested for the MP. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:19, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Am scheduling for Template:POTD/2013-10-13. Do you want your real name for the credit? — Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:01, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- What the heck: sure. Put me in as K.D. Schroeder. Also, while I have your attention, does "MP" mean... "Main Page"? Or does it stand for something else? (er, I dunno... like... "Manual Portal"? "Miscellaneous Photographs"? "Man-made Pyrotechnics"?) Wikipedia is full of initialisms and I wanted to be sure. And if MP does mean "Main Page", does this mean that you have the personal ability to determine what gets placed there? (Such powers! If so, I am in awe). Lastly, the second image I created that also made it through FP candidacy, File:C elegans male.svg, is actually a better overall image (of the male version) of the same species of creature— if I were to choose, I'd consider the it to be more worthy of highlighting than the hermaphrodite. In any case, I look forward to your response! KDS4444Talk 18:05, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Either one is fine, so I'll schedule the male (though this means the hermaphrodite will be at least a year, as the same article should generally not be given a bolded link in Picture of the Day more than once a year). MP in this case means "main page", right. Sorry about that, force of habit.
- I've been selecting the Picture of the Day since January 2013. Howcheng (who replied to your post at that long-dead discussion) was handling it before then, but he seemed to be quite busy so I offered to step up. It's actually not that much power, as we're limited to choosing extant featured pictures (not ones which haven't passed) and have to consider the community's reaction. Dream of the Fisherman's Wife (NSFW) is one which would most certainly not go on the MP, for instance, even though it is a featured picture. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:42, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- You know, I would have no problem abdicating the hermaphrodite image from the POTD lineup altogether. Having the male being highlighted is an honor all its own, and the hermaphrodite, while still a pretty neat picture, is repetitive of the worm theme anyway. Plus I know there's a huge backlog of images for POTD, and I don't see any reason to crowd it with that. You can consider me taken care of.
- (...Also, I heard the Fisherman's wife preferred the younger octopus. As one would (!).) KDS4444Talk 12:21, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Har har. The "worm theme" isn't an issue, as a year or so is more than enough time between two similar images. Some subjects have multiple FPs (USS Arizona being one of them). — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:23, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

POTD notification
Hi KD,
Just to let you know that the Featured Picture File:C elegans male.svg is due to make an appearance as Picture of the Day on October 13, 2013. If you get a chance, you can check and improve the caption at Template:POTD/2013-10-13. Thank you for all of your contributions! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:59, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- You are a dream! Thank you! I will be letting my mom know to look for it on that day! KDS4444Talk 07:05, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Like Always glad to help. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:01, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- And let me compliment you on writing the caption for the image— I just made a few minor adjustments, but it read like a pro already. Well done. KDS4444Talk 12:12, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks again! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:24, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Stephen Bustin
Hi, I noticed you did not like the way I wrote the article Stephen Bustin, because you stated that " Wikipedia citations are supposed to be about the article content, not citations to its subject's work." I am posting here because I wanted to know exactly which sources in this article shouldn't be there. Jinkinson (talk) 14:23, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- Got your message. Basically (though not definitively) any reference that has Bustin as an author shouldn't be used as a citation for an article on Mr. Bustin. As the article stands right now (Oct. 7 2013) this would include numbers 3,5, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. The references in the article should consist of secondary sources— that is, sources in which Bustin's work is discussed, not primary sources— those in which Bustin himself helped generate. Please let me know if this makes sense, and if not then I will see if I can elaborate. KDS4444Talk 19:10, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
