I'm curious to know your thoughts behind this reversion diff - I was under the impression that the creator of a draft would be entitled to blank it? --nonsense ferret 19:41, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Nonsenseferret, thank you for your message.
- You are correct, the author is entitled to blank his draft. Huggle didn't pick it up because user:Shdalex was not the only editor (user:Josve05a also edited)
- I have now reverted my edit, and requested speedy deletion (CSD G7)
- Best Regards -- Marek.69 talk 19:51, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

Kindred course summaries
Hello Marek69--
I just wanted to let you know that it was me who moved around our class summaries of the different chapters of Kindred in our course's talk page so that they are in chronological order for our next class session (the students were posting all at the same time, so some sections of the novel got posted in the wrong place). I just forgot to log in to Wikipedia before I made the changes. But thanks for keeping a close eye on our class! :-) DrX (talk) 21:20, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

re User:'Jeevan naidu'
Hi Marek69
The only reason I'm posting to you is that you welcomed ,'new user' Jeevan naidu (talk · contribs) (5 August 2013). Now if you click on their name you will find yourself at User talk:Jeevan King. They have moved their userpage/talkpage to new names. I have advised them that moving and redirecting like this does not rename their account.
It's confusing as the page seems 'legitimate', but try to click on "User contributions" under 'Tools' at the left for example (you can't as it won't be there!). Try Contributions in the User menu' if using Twinkle, Special:Contributions/Jeevan King, click 'contribs' in Jeevan King (talk · contribs) or try editing the talkpage and you will get "User account "Jeevan King" is not registered."
I have told them about WP:Changing username and they 'thanked' me so I know they saw my message. Anyway, is there any other action that should be taken, a venue to mention it at? (WP:ANI?) Maybe a template for these cases? --220 of Borg 01:05, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- Meh! I brought it up at Wikipedia talk:Changing username too and Admin. User:Xeno seems to have it in hand. --220 of Borg 04:39, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi 220 of Borg, thanks for the update. I'm glad the situation is in hand.
- Unfortunately this is the hazard of letting new users move pages. Maybe we should wait until new users show us that they understand the difference between renaming their account and simply moving it to another location, before we grant them the 'move right'.
- Best Regards -- Marek.69 talk 01:16, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- Indeed, being allowed to move pages when autoconfirmed ie. "more than four days old and have made at least 10 edits" seems a bit quick. Perhaps the assumption is that they have already been IP editing for some time? (which I had been for >2 years before registering), so may 'know the ropes' if they stay long enough to make even that few edits? (Without getting blocked!) Anyway, the user's pages are now where they should be & renamed as they wished.
- With hindsight, I should probably have boldly moved the user's pages back, though Xeno as an Admin could probably do it without any needless redirects to be deleted before the pages could be 'properly' moved. I have certainly spent far more time discussing the matter than it really needed! (And I don't type very quick, especially on a tablet PC.) I should have gone to the username change talk page first up, but I only realised that after I had done my original post to you. :-\ 220 of Borg 03:46, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
Portsmouth meetup #2
Hello
Thank you for attending the first Portsmouth meetup last Sunday, it was nice to meet you again and have some good discussions, just a shame that I had to leave before the end.
After that success, I'm now turning my attention to organising the second meetup. An end of August date seemed to get support, and so I've provisionally scheduled it for Sunday the 31st, avoiding the bank holiday weekend the week before. It was suggested that people might like a visit to a museum in the morning before the pub in the afternoon. I suggest that the Portsmouth 2 talk page on Meta is the best place to organise it, so when you have time please feel free to head on over there and share your thoughts. Please also invite anyone in the area you know or think would like to get involved with organising or attending the museum visit and/or pub. Chris McKenna (WMUK) (talk) 12:56, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

Twin town vandal / edit filter / request for help
Hello Marek,
we have talked about the twin town vandal before. To help stopping that guy, I have requested an edit filter quite some time ago and nothing has happend since, no response at all. Do you (as someone who's know this place for a little longer than me) have any idea how I might speed up that process or maybe know an administrator you might ask for help? Kind regards, --Controllingtalk 20:57, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

- I shall ask around and see if I can get something done about the situation.

I've reverted this edit. Titles in references should use the actual titles, not preferred ones. It the title says Frederick, it isn't good to change it to Frédéric. It's not as if Frédéric was his actual given name anyway. --Stfg (talk) 00:14, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Fraudulent Russian polititian
Please take a look at the profile of Mikhail Batin. This is blatant self promotion by a Russian politician-wannabe who’s only claim to fame is a blog with fairly radical calls for violence. Including violence in Ukraine. Both the Russian and English versions of the Wiki articles were written by the hired staff within his “foundation”. OlgaMartyniuk editor, who originally wrote the Russian version of the biography is officially employed at his “foundation”. He claims to be the director of the regenerative medicine laboratory at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology without having a graduate degree. This is a disgrace for the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Viktor Petrik, another disgrace to science, at least knows what he is talking about when giving interviews. He does not speak English. Militant atheist and anti-Semite. Wikipedia is better than that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.82.68.78 (talk) 03:53, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
