Happy New Year!
[edit]Dear Mike Halterman,
Wishing you a happy new year, and very best wishes for 2009. Whether we were friends or not in the past year, I hope 2009 will be better for us both.
Kind regards,

Elpida
[edit]Hello Mike and happy NewYear! It's true there's no free photos of Elpida on flickr, or the greek web, from a quick look. Most of our greek singer photos are from live performances. Unfortunately Elpida is way past her prime and I don't know if she still sings live. Neither does she have a website (at least from a small google search I did). So, for a free photo we'll either have to catch her live (I'll keep my eyes peeled for any live performances) or discover someone who owns photos of her and ask for a gfdl or cc release (or her own website, if it turns out that she has one). I'm sorry that I can't be of more help at the moment, but I'll be on the lookout for this. Cheers! - Badseed (talk) 09:25, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Mike, and thank you for contacting me. Frankly, I also feel that I was somehow vindicated (even if not thanks to myself). I am not seeking for apologies, although I deeply appreciated the ones that actually came by. But most importantly, Wikipedia dodged a bullet, and we all obtained some food for thought. Best regards, Húsönd 19:00, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hey Mike. Jeg er bange for, at jeg ikke rigtigt har den store interesse i Wikipedia-relaterede arrangementer længere. Ellers tak. Wikimedia Danmark
[edit]Hi, Mike. I apologize for the delay in responding to you. I didn't mean to leave you hanging. I went ahead and added my name to the list on the Wikimedia Danmark forslag page. However, I must confess my complete current ignorance about the parameters, functions, duties and benefits that a chapter like this would entail or provide. But I certainly am interested in seeing the proper expansion of any good cause of the Wkipedia within Denmark. So, for the moment, while I figure out what a Wikimedia Danmark chapter actually means, I will participate as I can. — CactusWriter | needles 20:36, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Just got round to reading the Edsilia interview. Nice job again. Interesting that you picked up on her similarity to Ruth Jacott (they are my 2 favourite Dutch entrants ever) - shame she didn't comment on Ruth herself. Orphaned non-free media (File:Burninglovecover.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Burninglovecover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

When I was finished with the ones I do with AWB and was about to send the rest by hand I saw April 29 and was like shoot, tomorrow is still April. I was so set on getting them all delivered by 8pm tonight which is midnight UTC before May and it wasn't even May tomorrow. I'm annoyed cause I threw it together and it could have been so much better lol.

[edit]A second RfC has been started on sourcing for Eurovision articles, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. This RfC is critical as it will help determine how current and future Eurovision articles are sourced, and as much participation as possible is needed for a consensus to develop. [edit]The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aybsagaindvd.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Aybsagaindvd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 19:47, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Mike Halterman! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 10 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Fair use rationale for File:1970winstonad.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:1970winstonad.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:41, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

The article Marla Adams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unreferenced BLP
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Mikemoral♪♫ 03:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Yankee Candle
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Yankee Candle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. TiMike (talk) 02:22, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Utminaret.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Utminaret.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. MSU Interview
[edit]Dear Mike Halterman,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.11.206.39 (talk) 03:21, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Cameronmathison.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cameronmathison.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:18, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
This stub you created seems to be lacking sources. Could you add sources if possible? Thanks.
Page has had severe vandalism so it is difficult for me to distinguish good and bad content.

Changes to infobox
[edit]Hello, I am a relatively new user and I was just wondering whether we could change the soap character info boxes so it includes all relatives (with relatives detailed as to their relation) and also includes their domestic partners. I hope we gain consensus across the Soap project to have something very similar. Under current rules, people argue about what relation one character has to another and it leads to inconsistency across articles. That is why the encyclopedia needs to have the real open list of relatives and I think that change would be the right way forward.--86.183.195.212 (talk) 18:57, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

Fair use issues with Kelly Monaco image
[edit]Hi. There is a fair use argument being brought to bear against an image of Kelly Monaco. I'm contacting you because you were actively involved in debating Monaco's image use back in 2005. The image has been in use on Sam_McCall since I believe 2005. The image was flagged when I attempted to link the same picture to the article Kelly_Monaco last night, which had no picture at that time, but has had a number of different pictures including the Sam McCall image since before 2005.
See here for more info:
Talk:Kelly_Monaco#Infobox

I have had no involvement with the page or with the images since last night, so I would appreciate any input you might have on the issue. Thanks Jay Dubya (talk) 17:57, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

I made a call to customer service. She was very nice. I made the call at 9:53 am to 1-800-841-4000. She put me in touch with corp. I spoke to ken. I told him the morel office, phila. pa. ( 4805 ) is closing in October ,2014 .He was not very nice. He hung up after saying NO WE CANNOT DO THAT FOR YOU.! I said I was going to call our local news community service and ask them why they can't make exceptions for they're handicapped customers? He hung up on me and was very rude. I have banked with your bank since November, 1990. That is when I was employed with your bank. There is a wawa across the street from that bank.It is on claraden ave. of witch morel bank is at claraden & knights rd.I am handicapped. that is why I had to leave the bank at the end of 2009. I walk to that bank. I am asking the bank to waive bank fees for using the wawa atm. I cannot afford a cab. I am living on Social Security witch is much lower that the disability you turned me down on. your ins co. turned me down. I don't understand that when the social security doctor said I have massive arthritis and nerve damage all through out my body. I guess you just didn't want to pay since I had extra ins that I had taken out of my pay. I still have the paystubs to prove it. maybe the local news community service would like an interview on that too. Sandra greer 473 mill rd. Bensalem, pa. 19020

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
[edit]Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
