For all your effort towards British cadet articles. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 17:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC) |
Hi. This edit of yours added an AfD for Essex Police Special Constabulary into an AfD I had just submitted for something else. Looking at the article page, you seem to have PRODded it. Those are different processes - see WP:Deletion. I would think PROD would be adequate in this case, it looks uncontroversial. Which did you mean to do? Can I help? Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:03, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Air Experience Flight articles
[edit]Hi - IMHO, it seems excessive to illustrate these articles with multiple photos of near-identical Grob Tutors, especially when some or all of the aircraft pictured appear not to be associated with the particular unit that is the subject of the article (not to mention the fact that the Tutor has only been used the AEFs for the last 10 or so years). I suggest one photo of a Tutor per article would be sufficient. Regards, Letdorf (talk) 11:56, 23 August 2010 (UTC).

[edit]Picture formatting was per Wikipedia:IMGSIZE. Placement to the right avoids stacking bullets next to the picture edge.
Unit infoboxes are used for the unit in the article. Air Training Corps Activities is effectively an extension of the Air Training Corps article which is not the same as the unit. While an unit infobox is not suitable for the article, have you considered a navbox linking together ATC related articles? GraemeLeggett (talk) 13:42, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Octavia Hill and the Army Cadets
[edit]Hello, Pandaplodder. I have been expanding the Octavia Hill article, and I saw your comment on the talk page to the effect that she didn't start the Cadets. The sources I've seen seem to say that she did. Perhaps I'm missing some important nuance. If you have a moment would you mind having another look and adding your comments to the talk page? One wants to get these things spot on. Tim riley (talk) 14:31, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
The first Cadet Unit in Scotland, possibly even the UK, was formed in Kircaldy, Fife in 1859. At that time Octavia Hill would have been 21, and living hundreds of miles away. Added to the fact that she only got involved with one Cadet unit in the 1880s, this shows that she did not form the CCF or ACF. For information, the Kircaldy unit still exists today as Kircaldy Detachment, Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.46.85.126 (talk) 13:31, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi Pandaplodder, I want to let you know that I am thinking about deleting the infobox you created for the Australian Air Force Cadets page, please have a look at the talk page for my reasons. Callanecc 14:00 19 February 2011 (UTC)

The article Stephen Taylor (academic) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Speedy deletion nomination of Forterra plc
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Forterra plc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Gbawden (talk) 17:45, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
