Closing your own move discussions

[edit]

Please do not close move discussions you started. Any uninvolved editor in good standing may close a move request. Please read the closing instructions for information on how a move request is closed. In closing a discussion, it is important to avoid conflicts of interest, because such circumstances cast doubt on the fairness of the closure, and often make the closure unstable. Even the appearance of conflict of interest is worth avoiding, for the same reason. — Zawl 19:58, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sammy Gervacio, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Atlantic League (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Un-redirecting minor leaguers

[edit]

Make sure when you un-redirect a call up that you give WP:Attribution in the edit history. Example being "taken from Cincinnati Reds minor league players" or something along those lines, like I did with Alex Blandino here.--Yankees10 00:54, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Teamwork

[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I follow your work closely and really appreciate you doing the players that have signed with other leagues. I know you have been doing it for a little while now but I am glad someone else assists now because I was the only one for years to do it. So I think we can work together to get all of these pages accurate! Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 16:03, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate the message, happy to work together to make sure there is accuracy for indy & foreign-based leagues. You may have noticed that I've been sparsely editing over July, I was traveling for a few weeks but am back now and will be more active from now on. Cheers mate--pozzi.c 20:02, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome! Like I said I am glad to have someone working on these pages with me when I am busy I know you got me covered and when I am busy you got me covered so we pretty much have a 24/7 project haha. Those are my main pages that I work on the independent foreign league pages along with the players on minor league deals who get released without being reported by MLBTradeRumors.com. Cheers to the good work keep it up! Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 16:12, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 21:37, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Milwaukee Milkmen

[edit]

Hey man good job finding the roster for them I live 10 minutes from the stadium and I don't even think they are going to be ready for the season lmao they have NOTHING done for the stadium yet going to be interesting to see if they will make it. Kingryan227 (DecreesActs) 20:11, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahaha wow that's interesting. They better start moving fast as I'm sure there's a lot to do and the start of next season seems far now but wait just a few months and panic will start setting in lol. At least their roster is filling up though so I guess that's a positive haha--pozzi.c 22:53, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Currently"

[edit]

Thank you for making edits like this one to update player articles, but please don't use the word "currently". Per MOS:CURRENTLY / WP:PRECISELANG, we need to use precise language that doesn't go out of date. And "is currently a free agent" means the same thing as "is a free agent", just with an unnecessary word. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:43, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2019 Pan American Games men's baseball rosters, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. World Series in Spanish

[edit]

Hey, I was wondering if you'd be willing to do a (sort of) mass translation of each year's World Series into Spanish. I'm currently working on removing POV terms from them and expanding them. I noticed that they were not in spanish, and that you know spanish and are interested primarily in baseball, so I thought you might be able to help. There is currently a translation beta that you can use to do it, if you choose. Thanks for reading! Ghinga7 (talk) 00:45, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please use kinder language

[edit]

Assume good faith if someone makes a contribution to Wikipedia. While 73.223.159.127 used an improper source (Twitter), they did so in good faith. The language you used in your reverts may very well scare away this new editor from Wikipedia. Try not to use hostile language, even if you don't mean to. Thank you. I get it - this individual isn't a newcomer though. You can tell who they are by how they edit. User:Stonecold415 - and this user has previously been banned for continously making bad edits. It's just frustrating as this individual causes a whole bunch of extra work on baseball pages for those of us who are properly maintaining these. Pozzi.c (talk) 21:08, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On 7 August 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Édgar Arredondo, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Olympic baseball player Édgar Arredondo set a record for the youngest debut in the Mexican League? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Édgar Arredondo. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Édgar Arredondo), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hey Pozzi,

I am not 100 percent sure how to do this correctly but Frontier League's traveling team changed its name and logo from Frontier Greys to Empire State Greys so I was wondering if you could help me change these things and make the article the best it can with the 2022 Frontier League schedule coming up. Also if we could add a roster for the team with its colors that would be even better! I hope you are willing to help me with the 2022 Frontier League season page that I created so it isn't just a one-man show. Thanks, Pozzi!

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
