Regarding your rude edit summary towards me, you're right – I'm not making friends. I prefer making featured content, which makes WP better and more professional. —Bloom6132 (talk) 20:46, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- No you are trying to insult other people edits like here. Please do not do that. QED237 (talk) 20:49, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Excuse me, but you're already violating one of WP's guidelines by undoing my edit on my talkpage. Knock it off! Undoing my edits to articles, fine, but you've crossed the line when you're intruding into my own personal space (i.e. MY talkpage). —Bloom6132 (talk) 20:54, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Bloom6132: Forgive me for being angry when some **** says your edit is "amateurish" and then just keeps on being rude. I dont think you would like that. It was a friendly notice for you not to do that. I believe in discussion and not removing other peoples edits. QED237 (talk) 20:56, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's right, keep up the personal attacks. So in your opinion, I'm just a **** who "happens" to have 13 featured lists to his name. Right, that clearly shows I don't have the experience or the knowledge on how to format a list. —Bloom6132 (talk) 21:00, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
By the way, I have to say "nice try" at presenting false info. Premier League Manager of the Season has Portugal ahead of England when both have 2. Alphabetical? Nice joke. —Bloom6132 (talk) 21:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Could you stop with the personal attacks now please (I dont feel like reporting you). Yes I might have been a bit to fast but it was an honest mistake. Calling my edit a joke is not very nice and if you are as good as you say you are you should know that. Seems to me like you should read WP:AGF and not say other edits are "amateurish". Please behave. QED237 (talk) 21:21, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Could you explain how anything I've said qualifies as a personal attack? I've called people's edits to the article in general amateurish (I never said yours; I didn't even know you made the edit until you started complaining), while you go on to call me a **** and interfering on my talkpage. And why should I be the one behaving? I'm not the one spreading false lies and claiming "fast honest mistakes" as fact. And the examples you've cited are all years-old FLs. My one-month FL trumps those. Seems to me like you should read WP:COMPETENCE and not preach without thinking. —Bloom6132 (talk) 21:33, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Bloom6132: Could you just take your attitude and leave me alone now? And how can one featuread article trumph an other article? They are both featured. And are you saying I am incompetent? You just think you are better than everyone else. Go and piss of the guy just adding twitter and leave me alone if you think Í am so bad at editing. QED237 (talk) 21:45, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Edit warring and conduct
Don't get frustrated. Just drop it and walk away. I'm not sure how to put this kindly. It doesn't matter who was right or who was wrong. You and the concerned editor have both violated the three-revert rule, and then engaged in a heated argument that involved personal attacks and grossly inappropriate conduct. Incivility will not be tolerated. We are here to work collaboratively to build an encyclopedia. If you are unable to do that, preventive measures will be put in place in accordance with the blocking policy. — MusikAnimal talk 03:45, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal: Hi, believe me when I say that after I woke up I am not to proud of my behaviour last night. But I fail to see were I was uncivil, as I stated on talkpage of user GiantSnowman It all started by the poor attitude of the other editor, claiming other edits are amateurish, when he said "how amateurish to use rowspan" and in general he kept saying things like "I have edited 13 Featured lists", bringing up WP:COMPETENCE (am I incompetent?) and keep saying he was the better editor and that gets me going. When I said to him not to harrassment me he just said "BS, get out of my talk". No editor is better then anyone, and I dont see anything in policies that the lists have to be done in his order, when I could provide lists that were not. Once again I am sorry for edit warring, I should have stopped and asked for help with this users attitude immediately instead of continuing, that is on me. I am just finding it hard not to react on such behaviour. QED237 (talk) 09:35, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- Please note I am about to archive the discussion on my talk page (partly because I am going on holiday and want it 'fresh' for when I return, but mainly because it was getting nowhere} - I suggest you discuss the matter at the article talk page, WT:FOOTY or WP:DRN. Reverts
Hello Qed237, sorry but I need to talk. I have a problem with the User: 187.252.103.226 (talk), as he made an early edit some days before and I Reverted cause his edit seems to me non-correct. But he continued to revert again. I don't want to make an edit war cause I've learned (with your help) about WP rules and I'm sending you this message to help me wich revision is correct, for example: including the Injures, Retires and Moves that Albania national football team's players had done during the time that they were members of the national team (all this options appeares there in the Squad recent call-ups). If you want more details about this, tell me, thanks. Eni.Sukthi.Durres (talk) 14:05, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
- It's ok, anyway thank you for your help, as now I'm more clearly.
Also since we're here I'm asking you another question, that I'm sure 90% for the answer, but anyway I want to make sure the full 100%.: Remeber the article Thomas Strakosha, a Albanian football player, who playes as a Goalkeeper for S.S. Lazio, wich I'd created his article and then it was deleted for not being yet a professional footballer, for not mading a professional debut. But yesterday his team Lazio played a friendly match against Levski Sofia for their anniversairy of the club and Thomas Strakosha played as a starter (match stats). Now should we call him as an professional player, can I create him an article again, or the friendly matches are not included as a professional match debut? Thank you. Rickie Lambert
The transfer window for Premier League clubs opens "at midnight on the last day of the season", and I believe that applies to all leagues in England. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:37, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- This table gives the opening and closing dates for a number of leagues, and shows the windows in France, Germany, Italy (albeit unsourced) and Spain open on 1 July. Not sure why 9 June is given for England (or Scotland), when none of the sources appear to verify that date. This comment made by Struway2 at WT:FOOTY gives a good overview of English transfer window dates. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:50, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Per the aforementioned table the US window isn't open yet, but the BBC report says he has signed, so I'm unsure. Might be worth asking at WT:FOOTY. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:51, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

2-3- FIFA World Cup logo
Thanks for the explanation, but I still don't believe a G3 deletion appropriate: why must it be a hoax? Most G3-suitable images are intentionally inaccurate maps and diagrammes or deceptively-digitally-modified photos; a simple logo really isn't in the same category. I would suggest that you take the image to a deletion discussion, but since the image is currently orphaned, it will be deleted as an unused nonfree image before the FFD would be done. Nyttend (talk) 23:11, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, G3 really is for the blatant hoaxes in all kinds of pages; this is why {{hoax}} (for articles) is very different from {{db-hoax}}. After reading your statements about the uploader, I'm tending to agree with you, but as I said it will be easier to let it get deleted after a few days of being unused. We can take it to WP:FFD if it gets used or the counter somehow gets reset. Nyttend (talk) 23:32, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
I don't think it really makes sense to list the teams that played in the final tournament, i.e. where it left off. I just don't see any reason to single out the final tournament; from a historical perspective it doesn't make sense to me. Heymid (contribs) 08:59, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- I really didn't see no reason just to remove that list, then you could remove map a bunch of other stuff as well. Hearing your explanaition I might agree but then remove it all and not just the list of teams. QED237 (talk) 10:33, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

red color of eliminated WC teams
Hi there, I see you've reverted a few people already who've added red color to the eliminated teams in Group B. I only saw that because I, too, went to add the color when I saw that it wasn't already there. I guess I'm confused why this would be a policy to not color them red, when the color key on the main WC page indicates that red indicates a "Team cannot advance beyond group stage", which is indeed true of Australia and Spain. Luis Suarez
"Official rules"? What "rules" are you talking about? The RSSSF source specifically states that Suarez himself insists that he didn't score the goal! Also, just because FIFA credited it to him doesn't necessarily make it correct or "official"! An excellent example is the Bahrain 10-0 Indonesia World Cup qualifier. Have a look at the FIFA match summary and then watch the highlights on Youtube or wherever. FIFA completely f'ed up some of the scorers and times of goals. Coates scored the goal which FIFA says Suarez did but you have a source which says Suarez insists he didn't. Therefore why still count towards his stats?! Mas y mas (talk) 23:42, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

2014–15 UEFA Europa League
Sorry, but just because UEFA say Tromsø's coefficient is 9.855, this doesn't mean it's correct. Please have a go at calculating last year's points and you get to 2.520, and not 4.020 as UEFA says. Every other credible website that follows coefficients - see: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method4/trank2014.html and https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=4FE4712A1E3EA4FA!156&ithint=file%2c.xls&app=Excel&authkey=!APYjeAAn075dSR0 - says it's 8.355. It's our role to publish correct information, and not blatantly follow UEFA although they may be wrong. Best regards. Vladovivoda (talk) 00:43, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi QED! I saw your update to the Europa League entry that I made regarding the Ukranian and Russian teams not being drawn together in UEFA competitions. You removed that 2 of the teams could potentially be affected. I had written that the 2 teams were only potentially involved because they may not be moving on to the 3rd round. If you could please validate that your change should stay given that all four teams are not yet through to the Third Qualifying Round, it would be greatly appreciated.

Leaving forever
QED, this is ALWAYS LEARNING with a final contribution after embracing WP:VANISH (my talkpage and user page have both been destroyed at my request).
Saw that you filed a report on user PANHEAD2014, then went back on it. Could not resist, but dropped by to see the current state of the "S. Busquets and M. Salgado" discussion and this guy, who rebuffed all my advances of building a bridge in his talk page, continues to belittle and accuse me in the discussion (i am on a vendetta against him, i purposedly revert his contributions so that the edits make no sense, i contact other user buddies to side with me). So he asks that i cease all communication with him, i oblige, but he can still run his mouth about me? Classy.
He has very few edits (nothing wrong with that, he edits as much as he wants to, when he wants), and more than 90% of those were made in Sergio Busquets and Míchel Salgado, so it was inevitable our paths would cross since almost all my edits were on Spanish and Portuguese football. He claims "no, no", i chose to edit those articles on purpose because i am onto destroy him as a WP user. Sick reasoning, made me want to (literally!) cry.
Well i'm off, after eight years, should have kept my promise of leaving after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, would have prevented this very nasty incident. You take care and all the best for you wikiwise and not. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 00:59, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Why the other player profiles has leagues as well? Check Karim Benzema, Franck Ribéry, Gareth Bale, Javier Hernández Balcázar or Arjen Robben (I'm sure I can find more examples). Does that mean some of the contributors think that's correct? I think it should be written "plays for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid" on Tiago Mendes page (the most prolific pages like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi has the same description), but user Gringoladomenega keeps changing it back to "in Spain". He's really a stubborn guy and this isn't only my opinion. That's why I've changed it to "in La Liga" to stop him. It looks like the wikipedia rules are different on each page. The transfer has been confirmed on Bayern's twitter and official website, "THEY HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT", so I don't see the point of all this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.143.234.71 (talk) 22:26, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- He has not yet signed, an agreement does not mean he has joined the club. He has medical left and will probaly sign contract after that. When he has officially been presented by Bayern then the deal is done. QED237 (talk) 22:34, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Calum Chambers
Is there a way to rescale the massive photo which you removed from Calum Chambers? I thought that images could be scaled down with a (size = 150) bar in the code, for example? As an alternative, as a public domain image, would it be appropriate to upload a new version in a better size? '''tAD''' (talk) 16:12, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- It's pretty easy actually as the image is public domain. Users can simply cut it down on paint and as long as it's credited from the first picture it's permitted. '''tAD''' (talk) 17:12, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
In spain or Spanish club
Regarding the message you sent User:Gringoladomenega, i also did like you told him not to do (seems he has been converted to your - "you" as in "some", not "you" as in "yourself" - cause in the meantime). Why do we have to write "Spanish club" or "Italian club" or "German club" in the intros? Isn't it obvious that FC Barcelona or A.S. Roma or SV Werder Bremen are CLUBS, not dogs or biscuits or tables? Why do you say "(country) club" flows better?
Attentively - --84.90.219.128 (talk) 01:43, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- In my opinion saying "in Spain" or "in Italy" may be incorrect as he may play for and represent that team in other countries in friendlies and european competitions. If you take for example a match between Roma and Barcelona in Rome, Italy then Messi is not playing for Barcelona in Spain, he is actually playing for Barcelona in Italy. Therefore saying Spanish club Barcelona is better because the club is always Spanish no matter where the match is being played. Then if we should have "(Country) club (teamname)" or just "(Country) (teamname)", meaning not mention the word club" is just a matter of opinion, but I think there is nothing wrong to mention it is a club and it makes the text flow better. QED237 (talk) 12:52, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- Suggestion (could you be so kind to present it at WP:FOOTY?): how about if we say only (example) "Álvaro Negredo is a Spanish footballer who plays for Manchester City as a striker"? Then, if the reader wants to know from where the club hails, they just have to click in its name.
Thank you as always, for your time and kindness --84.90.219.128 (talk) 13:56, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- That is one idea but in general previous discussions has decided that if the player and teams have different countries the country of the team should be displayed so that readers know the player does not play in his home country. QED237 (talk) 14:01, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- Not exactly sure what you wanted me to say at FOOTY but I have opened a discussion there now. QED237 (talk) 15:30, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
To ask precisely that, if we could do without the country of the club in the opening line. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 15:32, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Stats
Hey, is there a way to display the stats for the Real Madrid article this year like that? I can only add 5 parameters up top and only four rows for numbers somehow... Changing the template gave me no successfull result! Checking other ones were either not looking good, too big or whatever because they play in 6 competitions... Kante4 (talk) 15:16, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- ok... what i was thinking now was to put the supercopa, the uefa supercup and the fifa club wc into one column. No chance that we can update the template(s) so it displays six or more rows? Kante4 (talk) 04:02, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- But a wikitable blows it and adds "Kb" that does not be needed. Kante4 (talk) 14:50, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- This is my solution. And it's 5 games in the other column, tbh... Not that much! Kante4 (talk) 14:56, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- I would make it League, FA Cup, UEFA CL and then other with League cup/Community shield or move League Cup to FA Cup and call it "Cups" with a footnote and have Community shield as a own (or also in cups). But Footy is also a possibility. Kante4 (talk) 15:12, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

"Typo"
I've seen lots of new editors starting to use that as a generic edit-summary to cover all sorts of edits, often well beyond actual typo-fixes, and even seemingly intentionally evade scrutiny for intentionally bad edits. Bad-faith edit-summaries are themselves explicitly considered disruptive and can lead to blocks. I spot-checked User:Surein Kumar and couldn't find an acceptable edit over his many-months history despite multiple warnings. Indef'ed. DMacks (talk) 19:38, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Brazilian National team
Hello Qed237, how are you? I think you are confusing a little bit Zico numbers of goals for Brazilian National team. His 66 goals includes some for Brazil U-23 and for Brazil master team, that should not be counted as official goals for the senior team. For instance, Romario, if we count all his goals for Brazil U-23 (Olympics games), has a tally of 71 in 85 matches for the National team. However, it has been counted only the goals for the senior National team, which gave him a tally of 55 goals in 70 matches. I hope you understand the point. You can check this on Zico wiki page or Rsssf page. Thanks.

WHY
Why remove booked in footballbox collapsible ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usman afif (talk • contribs)
- @Usman afif: Hi, I removed them beacuse there was a consensus not to include them. Yellow cards does not neccesarily affect the game and are not notable. Also there is a reason for the parameter to have the name goals1 and goals2, that is we list goals there. There is currently a discussion at WT:FOOTY regarding this. QED237 (talk) 18:42, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
WHY (2)
why are you always changing people edits despite the edit was better than before, in arsenal season 14/15 you always remove the better one edit (example booked record in footballbox collapsible, goalscorer record, etc) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usman afif (talk • contribs)
- @Usman afif: Hi again. I am not sure what you mean that it was better before? I edit according to wikipedia policied and guidelines and current consensus at the football project, for example regarding the cards as described above. The goalscorers section is not needed since it is already in the apperance table (and someone else removed it before me). Without knowing exactly what edits you mean it is hard to explain so I suggest you give me the diff/diffs you dont understand and I will try and explain why I did them. Thank you. Information presented in club season article footballboxes
Hello there Qed. I'd like a moment of your time to discuss the situation with the inclusion or exclusion of card information in football boxes. I intend to present a convincing argument as to why we should include cards, including debunking several arguments given against the inclusion of cards. I'd like your opinion as to where and when I should present these arguments, as Kante4 has already agreed to a revote after several preliminary arguments of mine. It is my intention to have the MOS changed to include only goals and cards, rather than just goals. In summation, I'd like to know how I should go about this process. Italia2006 (talk) 16:44, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Italia2006: Hi. Of course we can discuss this and I am not that hard to convince I just wanted a general consensus and not different on all articles. This made it hard for me as many editors abandoned their team articles midseason when they were stuck in middle in league table and I had to update every team article, every article in different ways depending on how they has been updated at staqrt of season. So the idea of goals only I admit was, in a way, lazyness but I did not want to spend the extra hour after everymatch to add yellow cards on all articles (just goals was faster from sources as you can find it without pressing on matches). Also yellow cards are not very important. However I was almost 50-50 regarding red cards from the start. I think the best way is to go to the current discussion on WT:FOOTY and perhaps we should even restart the discussion with a sub-header with "cards or no cards" or something as that is current argument and the rest has been decided. QED237 (talk) 21:34, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- You just let me know what you think is best, because I really insist that we include cards along with goals. I don't think that's too much to ask. I am essentially the chief editor of the Serie A season articles and I've had no problem keeping up with the inclusion of cards, and I like to think those articles are well done. Regardless, whatever you think should be the process I will go along with, but I would certainly like a forum to expound upon my ideas and present my arguments, which I assure you will be convincing. Italia2006 (talk) 21:45, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- If no discussion comes up than no cards is used. Like QED, i can see why RC are important and added, but in no way YC. Still, my points is only goals. Kante4 (talk) 21:27, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Hockey Game boxes
I accidentally made my edit to the CHL group stage without being logged in. First, don't revert an edit without checking all the changes made. You removed additional information that was added and had to re-add it yourself in a revision. Second, The formatting change I made inside the box is how it is always used in practice, check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_IIHF_World_Championship or any other tournament page for an example. Gamer9678 (talk) 19:50, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
re: That is the edit I was referring to. It has no practical difference so changing it is of no consequence, the only reason I did so was to keep it consistent with every other hockey article and because it looks cleaner on the edit page. I do however have a little bit of a problem with your revert considering it removed additional information and the reason you gave to revert is of such little consequence. Fin/Swe Champions League Teams
City names are usually used for those teams in English language publications. Regardless of that I believe that on CHL pages we should be using the naming conventions the CHL themselves use, no? Gamer9678 (talk) 22:45, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

- Agreed on those, I usually see Djurgårdens IF and Frolunda Indians or sometimes Frolunda HC but Tappara Tampere/Tampereen Tappara, Kuopio Kalpa, and TPS Turku are commonly used. Maybe just Finnish teams then? Really though I think we should be mimicking whatever official CHL media uses. Gamer9678 (talk) 23:00, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- I think there is some sort of unwritten rule that team names should be at least two words (or something like that) and that is why they add the city name like TPS Turku, HV71 Jönköping, Frölunda Gothenburg and so on. I am not sure we should add those names as that is not their real names. I am also wondering about EC VSV/Villach SV, for some reason they are know as EC VSV everywhere else on wikipedia but on CHL article suddenly they have Villach SV. QED237 (talk) 23:08, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- I think the two names thing is an attempt to "translate" the names to North American conventions. They used some other weird ones like ZSC Lions Zurich too. The more I look around I see that they're not even consistent across their own media so I guess we'll just go with what the teams use. The Finnish names still bother me a bit because I've never seen the city names not used in English but I'll get over it. Gamer9678 (talk) 23:24, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah I will look at it tomorrow or later this week to get a new view of how it look. Perhaps we should leave it as it was before I started to change it. QED237 (talk) 23:28, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Second yellow card
Hello i just want to ask a question, when player sent off with second yellow card, the first YC doesn't counted ? I mean the booked just count for the red card ? As i know the red card record just for direct sent off (red card). When sent off with second yellow card, one count to yellow card and the other one for the red. thanks Usman afif (talk) 11:33, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- The only thing reported after the match is what the player ended matxh with, he recieved a red card so it counts as a red and his first yellow done exist since it turned in to a red. You cant have both yellow and red from same match, that would then be worse than recieving a straight red which is not the meaning of cards. QED237 (talk) 18:39, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League maps
I give up on the Borussia Dortmund case, as there is a Borussia Monchengladbach. But Dynamo Kyiv's case I don't understand. There is no consistency throughout all seasons. So I suggest a real consistency:
- Clubs called [first name] [city]: Use the first name. E.g. Dynamo Kyiv => Dynamo.
- If there's multiple clubs in a country with the same first name: Use the city name and optionally the first name initial. E.g. Borussia Dortmund/Mönchengladbach => Dortmund/M'gladbach or B. Dortmund/B. M'gladbach, Vitória Guimarães/Setúbal => Guimarães/Setúbal or V. Guimarães/V. Setúbal.
- Clubs called [city]: Obvious, use it.
It's quite simple and consistent. At least more consistent than before. Please share your thoughts about my suggestions. 2.82.108.246 (talk) 11:42, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

- 2011–12 UEFA Champions League Best player: Iniesta
- 2012–13 UEFA Champions League Best player: Ribéry
They all match the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, so why shouldn't we list C. Ronaldo as the best player for the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League? We should either list him or remove all others from their respective UEFA Champions League articles. Cheers! Tibullus (talk) 18:37, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Links in infobox
Not sure why you're insisting on that method of linking in the 2014-15 MUFC season infobox. It's never been done that way for MUFC seasons before, and I don't see what benefit it brings to the article. Please explain. – PeeJay 22:36, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- @PeeJay2K3: Hi, sorry it took so long to respond, I have been busy and simply forgot about it. The main reason is that MOS for club season articles Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Club seasons does not have the years in the link for the tournament. And I believe the way I made it is the easiest way to link to both the tournament, and this year edition of the tournament. Also this is how it looks on many other articles (and there will be more). I can change the older ManU articles if needed. Perhaps this is a discussion for WT:FOOTY and the new MOS being developed (although) nothing has happened for a while. - You are right that it is one way of including links to both the competition page and its corresponding individual season, but I would respond by asking why we need to link to both. The club season article surely needs only link to the corresponding season of the competition, as the United season articles already do? – PeeJay 09:13, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

I've reverted and I'll warn the editor, if he continues to re-add he will be blocked. GiantSnowman 19:14, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
