Hello Safari, I am a young researcher who loves to read books and know more about Indian football. As we all know Wikipedia is a hub for knowledge so I was attracted here. So as a young and inexperienced editor, I am requesting you help me guide and publish the page online.

As informed earlier, Mohun Bagan is an Indian club with a rich history. They have played a significant role in Asian competitions for Indian football but there is no such page for Mohun Bagan's performance in Asia. Another Indian club, their rival has one with the same topic but Mohun Bagan has none. It would be good for new fans if they get to know about Mohun Bagan and East Bengal's performance in Asia. East Bengal's performance in Asia has already been added to wikipedia. They did a wonderful job by doing it. I have spent months on this topic. The details mentioned here is throughly collected through extensive research. I am also planning to do for other clubs as a neutral Indian football fan. This is my first project and I would be happy if my research data is available in Internet. As per wikipedia rules, every details has references to prove its authenticity. If you have any question, feel free to ask? I an ready to answer all questions as I am confident with my research and I believe the data should be available for Indian football fans

I will be highly oblized if you kindly go through the page in my sandbox. It took months of hardwork and extensive research. Regards - Kavani Helper Kavanihelper (talk) 20:58, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Review of updated Draft:Orangutan Jungle School

    [edit]

    Hi SafariScribe,

You rejected my draft Draft:Orangutan Jungle School on the basis of the lack of secondary coverage and reliable sources so I've included a new section with newspaper reviews, conservation research that discusses the BOS Foundation and the Jungle School, and fundraising and wildlife nonprofit support the show has received.

Unfortunately, finding more coverage beyond news articles has proven a bit difficult because while images and videos of Orangutan Jungle School is very popular online, especially among orangutan fans, a lot of people don't know the source of the material and just share the memes without knowing much about the series.

Let me know what you think about the draft now and if you have any other suggestions. This is my first article I'm creating so I'm a bit new to the process - thanks so much for all your help! :) Corgipup13 (talk) 00:45, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Corgipup13, thank you for whatsoever thing you're doing to improve the draft, however it still doesn't meet the criteria for a film. You've jumped and resubmitted, right? It's fine and I will allow another reviewer to look at it. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 07:57, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also know that Wikipedia works with the amount of sources (WP:42), and how the draft is significantly covered in those sources (WP:SIGCOV). Additionally beware of WP: LOTSOFSOURCES. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 07:59, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Your Assistance

    [edit]

    Hello @SafariScribe,

I hope you're doing well. I apologize for bothering you, but I wanted to bring to your attention an issue with one of my drafts. It was placed under review for approximately 12 hours, after which the reviewer seemed to have forgotten to either accept or decline it. As a result, another editor had to remove the "awaiting review" template. Draft:Royalty Hightower

At your convenience, could you please take a look at my draft for review? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    @SafariScribe

Thank you for your recent review of my previous post. I truly appreciate your efforts and the great work you are doing on Wikipedia.

I have some familiarity with reliable sources on Wikipedia, and recently, I have been writing about actors and movies. I am currently working on a Yhemolee and would appreciate your help in verifying whether this [3] is reliable and suitable for Wikipedia. I discovered the subject through a movie I watched on Amazon Prime and later came across the same name on MTV Base. I kind of did my research and found out that he is a notable figure in your country.

I would also like to confirm whether it is against Wikipedia’s guidelines to request assistance on a draft or source.

Thank you again for your time and support! Afro 📢Talk! 17:44, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    [edit]

So, I wanted to talk about charts. The first song article I made, Tshwala Bam, I added a charts section to it. Am I supposed to update that every day? What do I do if the track leaves the charts? Question from Joseon King (17:28, 7 October 2024)

    [edit]

Hi, nice to meet you. I joined a couple of days ago and translated part of the article "River source" from English to Urdu. However, yesterday after spending hours translating the next section "definition", when I reached the last paragraph, the text box to translate doesn't appear anymore and there is nothing I can do. I tried opening in another browser, but it still gave me the same error of blank text box where I can't input anything. After trying different methods, I realised the issue is just with the individual paragraph. The rest of the paragraphs are allowing me to translate as normal. It might be something wrong with the code. Would you know where I could raise this? Thanks 🙂 --Joseon King (talk) 17:28, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    [edit]

    Hello SafariScribe,

I’m rather confused by this article being rejected for not having reliable sources.

So, Forbes, INC, Investor’s Business Daily, and probably 50 podcasts (not all listed), a patent, a recent book published by Wiley (a publisher worth over $3B, not referenced, but easily verified on Amazon), etc., isn’t considered significant and reliable?

Please help me understand this further and how this can be remedied.

Is there a particular statement that does not have a reference requiring further verification?

    Your help is appreciated.

    Dxbender (talk) 23:16, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Listen Notes, Apple Podcast, YouTube, e.t.c are all unreliable. I tagged some of the draft's content with {{citation needed}} , indicating that sources are needed there. Looking at your draft, I don't see any significant coverage. Also, I gave you a guide to read—WP:42—after declining the draft. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 03:59, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Article about Kiarash Mosayebi

    [edit]

    Dear SafariScribe,

You just declined the article about the photographer Kiarash Mosayebi. The reasons given are: "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources”, and: “This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article”.

Please explain why this should be so, specifically: How many external references would normally appear in a Wiki article about similar artists? Why do the sources quoted here not qualify as “significant coverage”?

Looking forward to a quick resolution of this issue.

    Thank you and kind regards

    Draft: Chilai Howard

    [edit]

    Hi there SafariScribe,

Hope you are all well, It has been a while since I could re-edit some items that you mentioned in the "decline" message, having spoken to multiple users at the WIKI community, I have amended a few points and added a few art critic articles for this draft, which could be found here at the Draft history https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Chilai_Howard&action=history . I am hoping these could erase some (if not all) of the concerns, having spoken with multiple HK wiki editors, I shared my views on how hard to find past refs in Hong kong, as the largest news and cultural outlets in Hong Kong have been closed down due to the newly established national security laws in Hong Kong (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%932020_Hong_Kong_protests) in which most of the artists in Hong Kong have the most cover from but they gave me some suggestions and I tried my best, added additional REFs (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (15) (29) for reliable sources on art critic reviews (also deleted all showcase of his works from youtube and instagram). I have deleted words like award-winning, his websites, to fit into the tone and manner of WIKI. I hope this is good enough from your perspective and thank you so much for reviewing when you have time. Any suggestions/advices will be great, I will try to re-edit as soon as possible. Thank you. [edit]

    Hello SafariScribe,

On August 1st, you declined the article proposed for Draft:Samuel Metcalfe, an Inuk from Nunatsiavut, Canada, on the basis that you considered the sources to be unreliable and that we did not prove that Sam was worth having his own page on Wikipedia. I must admit that your refusal was not only disappointing, it was received as an insult. We’ve let the dust settle for a couple of months and have decided that time has now come to engage into discussions on how the article can be improved. Based on your Wikipedia profile, we understand that you are located in Nigeria and, most likely, have very little or no knowledge of the realities of Canada’s First Peoples, including the Labrador Inuit, Sam’s group of origin. When the time comes, I’ll give you more background information but, for now, let’s clarify your issue with the reliability of the sources.

Of the 34 sources listed in the article,

    • 13 are articles published in respected magazines such as Inuktitut Magazine (the official publication of Canada’s National Inuit organization which has been published for over 60 years), Etudes/Inuit/Studies (one of the most important scholar publications on everything Inuit published by Université Laval in Québec City), Atuaqnik (a newspaper published by the Inuit community of Northern Quebec, now called Nunavik), Circuit (the magazine published by the Order of translators, terminologists and interpreters of the province of Quebec), Kinatuinamut Ilingajuk (a Labrador periodical published in Nain by the Labrador Inuit Association), and Polar Record (A Journal of Arctic and Antarctic Research published in Copenhagen).
    • 6 are articles published in newspapers such as The Ottawa Citizen (Canada’s Capital daily newspaper) and The Telegram (the daily newspaper of the city of St. John’s, the capital of the province of Newfoundland-and-Labrador).
    • 1 is from a book published by the Université du Québec à Montréal.
    • 1 is from a thesis from Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland-and-Labrador.
    • 1 is from a publication by the Nunatsiavut Government.
    • 1 is from a census record
    • 5 are from the Labrador Institute Archive Finding Aid.
    • 6 are from letters, certificates and id cards issued by third parties and are held in Sam’s personal archives.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t understand how the sources referencing magazines, newspapers, books, theses, census records or governmental publications can be seen as unreliable. Am I right that your issue is with the materials we have included that come from Sam’s personal archives? These letters, certificates and id cards were issued by external/independent organizations, but if I understand correctly, the fact that they do not correspond to material published in a publicly available source makes them unsuitable for Wikipedia. By any chance, if we were to upload photos of some of these certificates/id cards would the references now be accepted since the visual proof is provided?

For the references from the Labrador Institute Archive Finding Aid, 4 of the 5 references refer to TV or radio programs produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Canada’s national radio and TV broadcaster) or the OkalaKatiget Society (a non-profit society dedicated to preserving and promoting the language and culture of the Inuit within Nunatsiavut through radio and television programming). These are therefore productions that were once publicly broadcast and copies of the programs are now held at the archives. Why wouldn’t they be suitable?

The remaining reference taken from the Labrador Institute Archive Finding Aid is a statement that Sam translated a book from Inuttitut to English. The reference is not a published document, but the book that Sam translated is. If this reference is not suitable, I presume that we have to get a copy of the published book and see if Sam’s name is mentioned as being the translator. That would become the new reference. Is this correct?

I think you have enough questions for now. We look forward to hearing back from you. Once we receive your answers, we’ll proceed with making the first set of changes to the article. We can tackle the notability issue afterwards. Thank you for your time and help. FranceRivet (talk) 20:28, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@FranceRivet, I'm so sorry that you and your group received the decline as an insult. However, it does but not necessarily important that someone must be knowledgeable about a subject before dealing with its notability. Wikipedia has already provided policies and guidelines, and those we use to judge a draft. While I wouldn't go into giving you my source analysis, I also received this your message as disappointed as, and since you have a group, maybe I should tell you what to do next: disclose your relationship with what you've written e.g are you related to the person, are you the person even? The rule is at WP:COI. Also, don't insult others irrespective of their background as it would inflict WP:CIVILITY. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 03:26, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
