Replaceable fair use File:Sparksville, Indiana ferry bridge.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:Sparksville, Indiana ferry bridge.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:42, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

Ok, did I do something wrong on User:Hurricaneinfomation.'s userpage? If I did, I truly apologize, but could I place a tag on that user's userpage? Severestorm28 23:50, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- On top of this, it tripped an edit filter. Is it the right thing – to place a tag on this user's userpage? Severestorm28 23:53, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- It appears that {{Sockpuppeteer}} is not intended for use by most users: "In general, this template should only be used by Administrators or Clerks as part of the Sockpuppet investigations process." That said, there is a sockpuppet investigation going on: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Hurricaneinfomation., though I'm not sure if it'll go anywhere since there's already a block for other reasons (as seen on their talk page: User talk:Hurricaneinfomation.). I'm not sure what edit filter you tripped. Any further questions?
- @Anon423: The edit filter [1] shows that I tripped an edit filter today, placing the sockpuppeteer template, while I wasn't an admin, checkUser or Oversighter. Severestorm28 01:40, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Well, it appears that edit filter simply informed you that you probably weren't supposed to use the sockpuppet tag template. You can simply undo it, though I don't think it's a big deal either way. At worst, somebody involved with the SPI (sockpuppet investigations) process might have to fix it to conform with their usual process. – Anon423 (talk) 01:53, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Anon423: Okay, do I leave the tag, or remove it? Severestorm28 01:54, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- If you're unsure, I'd remove it. – Anon423 (talk) 01:59, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll remove it. Severestorm28 02:00, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Severestorm28 22:54, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

A different question, this time for oversighter, checkuser
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
This question is: If someone is under 18, can they sign up for oversighter, and checkuser? I read WP:OVERSIGHTER and WP:CHECKUSER, it says people under 18 cannot apply. However, if someone becomes an administrator, will they be appointed checkuser and oversighter immediately; or they appoint it themselves? Severestorm28 22:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- No, those additional roles are not automatically part of sysop. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 23:17, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

2022 Australian Open – Wheelchair Quad Doubles moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, 2022 Australian Open – Wheelchair Quad Doubles, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 11:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Itcouldbepossible: Alright, that's fine. Severestorm28 12:06, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes move it back only when you have fully developed it. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 12:21, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Itcouldbepossible: It now has a reference; I cannot move it. What can I do with it, submit it for review at AFC? Severestorm28 22:27, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Well no, whats the hurry? Develop the page, add more sources, then you are free to ask me again. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 04:31, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- Well, all this I am saying because, I don't want the page to end up at CSD. And that is what is going to happen next time, you move the undeveloped page to mainspace. In the Draw section under bracket, I see that there is a table but it does not contain any data, why? Develop it, add more things if you can, and you are done. An article will be ready. But please don't try to do anything else now. Thanks. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 04:34, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Itcouldbepossible: Thank you very much for the advice. I will potentially move the page when it's ready. Severestorm28 13:03, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

It's a moot point, I histmerged the draft into the article due to the copy/paste. Primefac (talk) 22:30, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Primefac Thanks, atleast now it would not say, that I have created the page. I really got scared, when Xtools said that I had created 5 pages, which actually I had draftified. Then people created the page, and it showed me as the creator. Can you do me a favor? Can you histmerge 2022 Alaska Senate election? I had just draftified it when it was in an undeveloped state. But someone else edited the page, and it is showing me as the creator. Please look into the matter. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 07:49, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- Sure, though in the future {{histmerge}} works better than a ping ;-) Primefac (talk) 14:01, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Primefac Thanks, but now would you take some time to explain me something. Before the history merge took place, why was it saying that I created the page?
- PS: Sorry SevereStorm for using your talk page for my questions. You know one thing, my doubts does not end. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 07:51, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- When you move a page, you leave behind a redirect; since you are the creator of the redirect, if someone later overwrites that redirect with an article you still "get credit" for creating the page (case in point). Such is life; if anyone really wants to know your contribution history, they'll look at your contribs, not just your page creation stats. Primefac (talk) 11:25, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi, you sent me a response at the Teahouse asking if the article existed. The one you linked to is not the article that I intend to create, so it still does not exist. Do stubs need to fit notability criteria?

Is there a page to test out unblock requests? If not, where do I test? Severestorm28 00:20, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Most templates come with a sandbox area for testing them or proposed changes. In this case, I think Template:Unblock/testcases is the better choice.
- You could also post an unblock request here on your talk page, but that will attract administrator attention and they'll perhaps ask harsh questions like "why are you doing this?" — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 06:11, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Response to ANEW comment
Was just looking to respond to this as an admin has closed the thread. When it comes to film or TV they need to meet guidelines like WP:NFF to be considered for mainspace. The big specific sticking point for the most part is if the series or film has begun filming. As it stands the two shows have not entered any production outside of their initial development announcements. So since they aren't in mainspace, it's improper to include in the template, as it also goes against WP:CRYSTALBALL because they could easily be cancelled before production. What article should you do?
Hi there! I wanted to take our conversation off the talk page for Wilma. So you are looking for articles to do. What basin and time period are you most interested in? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:23, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink: Mostly 21st-Century storm-related articles, in the Atlantic basin, thank you for asking. Severestorm28 18:25, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe Hurricane Henri from last year? There might be some more information out there, but probably not that much more. It also needs updates from the tropical cyclone report, and a longer met. history. Another option (with less impact) is Hurricane Bertha (2008). Hurricane Jose (2017) should also be pretty close. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:36, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink: So, if I significantly contribute and make some major improvements, should I nominate it? Severestorm28 18:37, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yup, those are all articles that are pretty close to GA status, but need just a bit more work. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:40, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink: Ok, can you give me any suggestions on how to improve the article? Severestorm28 18:41, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- The first step is making sure everything makes sense. If it doesn't, you need to explain it. Sometimes, writers include jargon that only experts would understand, but we need to make sure everyone can understand the articles. Have you read through any of them and found any mistakes or anything weird writing-wise? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:00, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- I'm thinking that the article may need more references for additional verifiablilty, all three of them may need that. Severestorm28 19:05, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- OK, do you understand how references work, and how to Google to find additional references? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:28, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes. Severestorm28 19:29, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Great. Remember, some things take time. Make sure you don't add new mistakes in your edits, and as long as your edits are productive, then you're making Wikipedia better. Lemme know if you have any more questions. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:42, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi there! Off the bat, the article looks like the lead needs to be expanded, the overview should be expanded and maybe changed into a "meteorology history". Also, the article includes tornadoes, so the title should be changed to reflect that. Looking through the article, the damage total for Hurricane Laura needs to be updated. Also, the impact section is pretty disorganized. Parts are organized by state, and parts are organized by the type of damage. I see three tags saying "needs update". None of that seems too difficult to do though. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:27, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestions, I will edit this tomorrow. Severestorm28 01:34, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Since there is tornadoes, should I change the name to add "tornadoes"? Severestorm28 01:44, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
