Hello, Whispered11. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Masahiro Teraoka, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hello. When you are categorising eg player categories, you should not leave the club category as a red link. Per WP:NOTRED you should either create the target category or delete the red link - it's quite common for people not to include the club on player categories, there's more point once you start having to collect manager, season etc categories under the same banner.Le Deluge (talk) 21:04, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Since this seems to be a recurring problem with articles you create, let me take a moment to explain the relevant notability guidelines for footballers. In order to have an article on Wikipedia, a footballer must meet one of two guidelines. The general notability guideline says that any subject which has received significant coverage in reliable sources is presumed notable. In the context of football, significant coverage explicitly does not include routine sports reporting such as player profiles, match reports, squad lists and the like. It is fairly rare for a footballer to meet this guideline without also meeting the other one. The football-specific notability guideline says that a footballer is notable if they have played at the senior level for their country's national team or in one of the fully professional leagues listed here. (For Japan, this means the top 3 divisions.) Played in this context means having appeared in a match at the relevant level, either in the starting eleven or coming on later as a substitute. Simply being part of the squad of such a team or even being named to substitutes' bench, without making an appearance, is not sufficient to meet the guideline.

Finally, and can't stress this enough, please make sure your creations are accurate and up to date. Apart from the obvious problems of articles being wrong or out of date, this sort of thing is how mistakes like the nomination for deletion of Kaito Anzai and Junto Taguchi happen. Because the article on Anzai said that he had 0 appearances, I misunderstood the sources cited in the article as saying that he had yet played. If the statistics in the article had been up to date, that would never have happened. I hope that clarifies things. Happy editing. Sir Sputnik (talk) 19:29, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Junto Taguchi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable footballer per WP:NFOOTY parameters. Yet to play in a fully-professional league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I see you've removed the PROD template with a rationale in your edit summary. Please be aware that the article as written still doesn't list him as having played in the match you cite, so there is a risk that other users may list the article for deletion in other manners. I would therefore suggest updating the player's statistics accordingly. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 07:31, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Taira Shige has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable footballer per WP:NFOOTY guidelines. Yet to play in a fully-professional league.

The article Kohei Tezuka has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability of this player is currently unclear. Sources suggest he may have played for Kashiwa Reysol at the level required by WP:NFOOTY, however the fact that this information has not been incorporated into the article implies that he may not have done.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

I've reverted my own proposal of this article for deletion, as it had already been put through the Articles for Deletion process. That said, it would seem to be in need of an update, as the article itself doesn't indicate that he's played for Kashiwa while there's what I believe may be a mention of him doing so in one of the references. As I don't have any Japanese, I can't be sure about that, so it's probably worthwhile to keep the article up to date. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 05:49, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Vonds Ichihara, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ichihara (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It that is the case, why did you create the now-deleted page Shunsuke Yonehara?

Notability and sources

[edit]

I've gone through this with you once before, but since you're still regularly creating articles on Japanese footballers who don't meet the notability guidelines, let me explain this to you again. The most relevant notability guidelines for footballers is WP:NFOOTBALL. Make sure you understand it before creating any more articles. A simple test for determining whether a Japanese footballer meets this guideline is asking yourself two questions:

1. Has he played in one of the three J-Leagues?
2. Can you show that he has using reliable sources?

If the answer to either of these questions is no, the subject likely doesn't meet the guideline, and you shouldn't create the article.

The other thing I feel I need to address is the addition of unsourced material. I'm seeing this with alarming frequency in your creations (articles like Yuki Kato (footballer), Haruki Izawa, Hibiki Wada, Kohei Ueda), where you've added appearances to this infobox that are not confirmed by reliable source. This needs to stop. Adding unsourced, especially to biographies of living people is disruptive. No matter how true you know something to be, if it can't be confirmed in reliable sources, it doesn't belong on the 'pedia. Regards. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:46, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the guidelines, but I still don't agree to that. It's like you're saying that players who haven't featured in a J. League game don't exist. And that's not true. (talk) 09:21, 26 August 2018 (UTC+1)

First let me point you to WP:ENN. Notability and existence are not equivalent. Second, if you know what the guidelines are, but are wilfully ignoring them, then that is disruptive editing. Doing so continuously will eventually lead to sanctions, either in the form of a block or a ban on further article creations. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:30, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Grulla Morioka logo.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Grulla Morioka logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Edits at Naoto Sawai

[edit]

Hi! Please make sure to update not only the timestamp for stats tables but also timestamps in the infobox – that's "club-update" or "pcupdate" parameters for club stats and "nationalteam-update" or "ntupdate" parameters for international stats. I've updated club-update for you at Naoto Sawai. Also, could you please explain why you removed the date formatting template at Sawai's article? Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:04, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on 2021 in Japanese football requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Notice

The article Shinichiro Kawamata has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable enough player (now playing in regional leagues) with no appearances in the J.League to warrant a page

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
