Question from ShaafiJahangir (20:14, 11 October 2024)

[edit]

Hi Zoozaz,

There are a few changes I would like to make to the Brentwood College School wikipedia page for which I will mention along with evidence from the Brentwood website itself.

change head of school from "Bud Patel" to "Garth Chalmer" (https://www.brentwood.ca/blogs/hes-calm-hes-a-charm-hes-garth-chalmers)

change school postal code from "V0R 2P1" to "V8H 1K8" as shown in the Brentwood page (https://www.brentwood.ca/contact-us)

change colors from "Red and Black" to "Red, White and Black" (https://www.brentwood.ca)

I need help implementing this. I have already put this information in the Talk:Brentwood College School page. --ShaafiJahangir (talk) 20:14, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ShaafiJahangir, I've converted your edit request on the talk page to a COI edit request. Changing your username does not get rid of the conflict of interest; you still have to declare on your userpage your conflict of interest. Since it's a simple change with sources, someone should get to your request shortly. Zoozaz1 (talk) 23:20, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Zoozaz1, someone did get to it but did not spell the head of school's name right. It is supposed to be Garth Chalmers. Please double check it. ShaafiJahangir (talk) 16:41, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ShaafiJahangir, I've changed it. Before you do any more edits, though, you must state your conflict of interest on your userpage, otherwise you are violating Wikipedia rules even if you just request edits. Zoozaz1 (talk) 18:10, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have written my statement. Could you briefly explain why that is? Can I be a permanent editor of this page as I work at Brentwood College School as it is part of my job? I foresee any plans to advertise the brand/company but rather keep the wikipedia page of the school updated. ShaafiJahangir (talk) 19:55, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ShaafiJahangir, thank you for editing your userpage. You can read Wikipedia's specific policies/rationale on WP:COI; in short, just make sure to request COI edit requests on the talk page of Brentwood College School instead of editing directly, and you'll be fine. [edit]

Hi I am abir. How I write a article at Wikipedia? --MD. ABIR HASAN ASMAUL (talk) 09:01, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MD. ABIR HASAN ASMAUL, Hello, you can follow the process at WP:AFC. Zoozaz1 (talk) 03:11, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
it's work . then what I need to do? MD. ABIR HASAN ASMAUL (talk) 07:49, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
MD. ABIR HASAN ASMAUL, I'm not sure what you are referring to, but to write an article you need to read the page that I linked above, click on the button to create the draft for your article, write the article, and then submit it. Zoozaz1 (talk) 23:21, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Drrashmisarkar (20:29, 2 November 2024)

[edit]

Hello Zoozaz, How do I edit my Wikipedia page and make it useful and relevant? It also appears in medical biographies stubs. --Drrashmisarkar (talk) 20:29, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Drrashmisarkar, since you have a conflict of interest, just write the edits you want to add on the talk page of the article, and make sure to type {{COI edit request}} above the edits you want made. Make sure you also write that you have a conflict of interest on your userpage. Zoozaz1 (talk) 23:35, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi
But I do not have a conflict of interest. Just wanted to add more information. 122.161.52.173 (talk) 03:06, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Drrashmisarkar, if it is your Wikipedia page, then you have a conflict of interest, because you are the subject of the article. If it is not your Wikipedia page, then you can edit it by pressing the edit button on the page and then making the changes you want. Zoozaz1 (talk) 14:19, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Technarest (19:04, 3 November 2024)

[edit]

is using wikipedia for school essays considered “cheating”? --Technarest (talk) 19:04, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Technarest, If you're not supposed to be using outside sources, then yes, it is cheating. If you're allowed to use those sources, then it isn't, but keep in mind that WP:Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Wikipedia should really only be used to get a general grasp of a topic, or to find other sources that Wikipedia cites that are more reliable. If you do end up using Wikipedia regardless, make sure to cite Wikipedia in your essay. Zoozaz1 (talk) 19:31, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jimrot45556 (00:00, 12 November 2024)

[edit]

Hello I’m trying to write an article about a 4 point checklist which points to the correct winner of every us election since 1916. The développer has a twitter account and I can rely on his posts and their dates as sources or references. Any tips on how to write the draft and save also ?

Thanks in advance, Sincerely, --Jimrot45556 (talk) 00:00, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jimrot45556, unless there is a lot of media coverage of this checklist (see WP:NOTABLE), your article won't be approved, so look for those reliable sources and then cite those as references. Zoozaz1 (talk) 00:55, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The model is still new, the developper put his history and retroactive application of it since the us election of 1916. He correctly called the 2024 election before election day, looking at the date of his tweets posts as main references Jimrot45556 (talk) 15:48, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jimrot45556, I see, then it probably won't qualify for an article. Zoozaz1 (talk) 20:27, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
