as per WP:EVENT. WP:GNG does not apply to murders (otherwise every murder would be on WP), it needs WP:PERSISTENCE and some WP:LASTING effect of the crime. there was a spike in coverage on the victim's discovery and trial of her murderer. LibStar (talk) 23:53, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- There was no trial, according to the article. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:02, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete Tragic but not notable. WP:NOTNEWS applies....William 14:00, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Agree with delete for reasons above. -Jhortman (talk) 18:08, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Nothing apparent setting it apart from routine murders. Virtually unknown girl goes missing, body is found, virtually unknown suspect is arrested, pleads guilty. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:00, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Nomination rationale invokes WP:OTHERSTUFFDOESNTEXIST and as such it is meaningless - unless one can find the guideline wording and consensus stating clearly that WP:GNG does not apply to murders. Coverage lasts for several years, thus WP:PERSISTENCE is met, and WP:NTEMP must be kept in mind. No clear advantage to our readers or the encyclopedia in removing the article. --cyclopiaspeak! 20:12, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - It's not persistence that it's in the new currently, it's only because someone plead guilty. Looking online, it seems the murder made routine coverage when it happened, nothing after, then routine coverage when someone plead guilty. Just because it took a couple of years to find the person doesn't mean it persisted the whole time. Caffeyw (talk) 02:17, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- If it was not persistent, no sources would care about the pleading guilty. The fact they did proves that it is still of interest.--cyclopiaspeak! 08:31, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - With condolences to her family and friends, Wikipedia is not a compendium of true crime stories of perps and victims. Coverage is routine news reportage of a tragic crime and its legal aftermath. Carrite (talk) 17:51, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
