Wikipedians in Melbourne hold regular, informal meetups. At the meetup we usually have some experienced users available to provide advice on any questions you may have about editing or understanding a particular aspect of Wikipedia, as well as ways to get more engaged with the Wikimedia movement. If you have ideas for discussion topics, or have a specific question to be addressed, please list them on the next meetup page.

History
There have been Wikipedia meetups in Melbourne since 2005. In 2012, regular meetups were run by Wikimedia Australia, generally at Computerbank, which saw a more engaged Melbourne Wikimedia community, and editing workshops held in various locations. Meetups are currently most often held at Federation Square, with smaller editing meetups held at University libraries.
Since 2013, Wikipedia meetups have been supported by Wikimedia Australia (funding available for events, food and venue hire). More information can be found at wmau:Proposal:Wikimedia Australia Meetups.
In addition to informal social meetups, there have been smaller editing meetups in Melbourne focused on learning and practising article editing, for example:
- Melbourne University Library (contact: wikieditlists.unimelb.edu.au)
- La Trobe University Library (contact: red.grslatrobe.edu.au)
- RMIT University Library (contact: jodjod.id.au)
