Restored as a deleted WP:PROD and nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christopher Ingram. This article should never have been in main article space. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:56, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Host station

Have not seen deleted page but it is linked from quite a number of articles and the term is not defined anywhere else in the mainspace. If it indeed does not exist any longer, that is not a valid deletion reason per WP:NOTTEMP, even if it were not individually notable, it should be better off merging elsewhere as it is a reasonable search term —- CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 06:29, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Wrongful Deletion - article was encyclopedic, complete with valid references and sources to substantiate all content, and it met Wikipedia's notability. There is no reason it should have been deleted. —Jbaysinger (talk) 23:36, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

That is not why it was deleted. It was deleted as promotion. In the first instance take this up with the deleter User talk:Seraphimblade Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:44, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Okay, I contacted that user on their talk page, and they have not replied in 4 days now. There is no promotional content on that page, and there is absolutely no legitimate reason it was deleted. Note: This page has been deleted multiple times as an abandoned draft article. As Articles for creation, the Draft space, and user subpages are not to be used to indefinitely host material inappropriate for the encyclopedia, what exactly would you do to help make the draft get accepted as an article? I noted the Deletion notice, which was for lack of independent content and references, and am currently in the process of researching independent content and references to address the issue. I did not however have sufficient time to complete that process before the automatic deletion took place. Neoteric evolutionary theory

Deletion of this topic appears summary and unfounded. Was the decommissioning editor motivated by religious belief? Evolutionary theory is an on-going topic. Additonal data is now available that strenthens the general hyposthesis and especially the Recall Paradigm. The author's intention is to amplify the reasoning with further supporting evidence; e.g. Sonia Harmand's discovery of worked stone dating to 3.6 million years ago, the dating based on reversal of the Earth's Magnetic Field imprinted in stone samples also showing evidence of human manufacture. Thus, consciousness is evident in the mind of the manufacturer. The author's intent is to demobnstrate that bone frangements, skull size or shape is irrelevant to the presence of consciousness and intelligence and that the 'recall paradigm' is a better descriptor of humans than the differnet anatomical features of various emerging or extinct lines of hominid ancestors.DeQuinceyMalden (talk) 12:00, 19 September 2018 (UTC) Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Publish changes" button below —DeQuinceyMalden (talk) 12:00, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sudip Pandey, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Tone (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:34, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Neoteric Evolutionary Theory

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Publish changes" button below —DeQuinceyMalden (talk) 12:24, 21 September 2018 (UTC) Neoteric is a word, though rare, to denote a departure from accepted doctrine. Darwin himself, in introducing a 'neoteric' approach to human origins, was also ridiculed. He used hard (fossil) evidence and his conclusions now widely accepted. But in Darwin's own writings (Darwin, Charles, Notebook 'M' (103) Cambridge University Darwin Archive) he 'mused' (though not in his formal presentation to the Royal Scociety) that 'it is solely the comparison with past ideas, which makes consciousness - & which tells one of reality". This is also quoted in 'Femina Sapiens, Patriarchy, Tyranny and the Origins of Sexual Psyche'. (p81) by this author. The 'Neoteric' approach might be seen as an encapsulation of 'new' ideas but is based on a thorough accumulation of fact and serious examination of evidence and unequivocal fact (surely something close to the heart of Wikipedias legions of officinados?) Recent work by Prof. Martinon-Torre (University of London),Prof.Josh Akey (Washington University,Seattle), Prof. Chris Stringer Natural History Museum London, Sonia Harmand (Stony Brook University), Prof. Mark Findlayson (University of Gibraltar) provide a sizeable amount of evidence in individual and exhaustive papers too numerous to list as supporting references, but together justifying obvious inferences with regard to the processe of human evolution. The modest indication that the definition of 'human' is not determined by skull shape or size is obvious and apparently elicited the proposed deletion of the contribution; the floresensian group (only a metre tall, with a tiny skull) yet produced finely crafted and elegant tools. The simple outcome of the body of work on Human Evolution which may (or may not) be called 'Neoteric', demonstrates that human thought processes (which define the human - or is that in contention?) commenced earlier than 3.3 million years ago, as demonstrated by Harmand's work at Olduvai. Thus, given the collective work of all involved in paleoanthropology, we mgiht concur (presumably) that Darwin's (fleeting but apposite) reference to recall as the precursor of all conscious activity is beyond dispute. The Neoteric Evolutionary theory encapsulates the obvious outcomes that result from human niche expansion, accelerated by consciousness and continuous feed-back driven by recall. Together, the advance of humans far beyond the attainments of close relatives and attendant mental and cultural feedback, and collectively named the 'recall paradigm', is worthy of being retained as and informed, informative and well researched contribution.DeQuinceyMalden (talk) 12:24, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

We are highly committed to the open source community serving over 100,000 users. Our position as one the most widely used tools for automated code review leads us to believe we are a relevant reference in the market, highly contributing for the reduction in global tech debt, recent estimates put ‘Bad code’ costing companies $85 billion annually - and Software engineering efficiency having $3 trillion impact on global GDP. OmniMark

This appears to have been deleted via PROD rather than after an AfD discussion. OmniMark is a long-standing programming language that's been used in publishing since the 1990s. It's the subject of several books listed in WorldCat (including manuals, programming guides, and even the proceedings of an annual users group meeting), and has an established Library of Congress subject heading. While it may be somewhat obscure to many today (both due to its age, and its specialized target audience) it's a notable language in the history of computing and electronic publishing, particularly in the processing of SGML and descendant markup languages, including those that underlie web sites like this one. The article as deleted may need better citations and sources, but it should not be summarily deleted (and certainly not without the chance for broader discussion). —JohnMarkOckerbloom (talk) 18:46, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Proposed deletions are only deleted if nobody objects within 7 days. They can be and are restored here on request (as the request is interpreted as an objection to the PROD after the fact). —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:54, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedia,

We hope we are writing this to the correct individual and bringing attention to a recently deleted page for our client: Greg Herman. We noticed that his page went missing and we feel was unfairly deleted. It has been posted for many years with few changes. The Greg Herman brand and name is strong is well known in the fashion world with Greg contributing greatly to the field of accessories, etc. The reason for deletion was: (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion) by user: Ritchie333.

The article in no way represented unambiguous advertising nor promotion. For this user to delete this is unwarranted. Had the user had an issue, he/she could of edited. However, they took action that was unwarranted and over the top. This page should not have been deleted, and we ask that it be restored. Thanking you in advance for your help in the matter.

Best,

Robyn Davis

G11 deletions are generally not restored here; nine times out of ten they would need far more than a couple of edits to be acceptable. (It's also incredibly common to the point of absurdity for someone who's written or has a stake in a page that's been identified as promotional to claim that it isn't; you have a reason to make that case that doesn't involve Wikipedia's core goals.) In addition, you are obligated to disclose the relationship between you and your client and should have done so well before this point. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 10:36, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

I've got no idea why there was problem with the image. I got no idea why some ds deleted it. Nobody sent me a bloody message that there might be a problem. No wonder that the number of editors is in decline. Silent Billy (talk) 11:13, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

  • @Silent Billy: the reason given for the deletion is that you didn't specify a source for the image. Furthermore although the image description claimed the image was being done as fair use, the image was tagged as being available under a free licence and didn't include a full fair use rationale. I'm not sure use of this image in that context meets WP:NFCC either. If you have further questions I suggest you talk to the deleting admin (User:Explicit). Hut 8.5 15:47, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

This page looks like it was deleted for lack of citations. I have made a few edits to this page in the past and would be willing to spend more time to improve the citations. —lonnez (talk) 21:50, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Cruise1st

As far as we are aware as a company, we haven't broken any guidelines with our Wikipedia page. Cruise1st are a legitimate business that deal in the cruise travel industry. We are based in the Lowry Outlet Mall in Manchester. We have a neutral point of view in explaining what Cruise1st are about and we are fully aware that Wikipedia isn't a place to promote products or services to the public. The goal's "just the facts" and we have tried to inform the public of what are services as cruise travel agents are. —148.252.229.178 (talk) 13:14, 24 September 2018 (UTC)

@ProfessorTom:  Done, restored, but there was only one line of text in it. Please see WP:BAND for inclusion criteria that this ensemble needs to meet before they can have an article on Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 21:04, 24 September 2018 (UTC)

Draft talk:ComedyShortsGamer

This talk page was deleted as G8. But G8 didn't actually apply as Draft:ComedyShortsGamer existed, and the talk page had been recreated. The deleted revisions for the talk page should therefore be restored. —GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:08, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
