Article rescue as a team effort – one squad member's view.
In an ideal world, all we'd need to save a distressed article would be two independent sources showing significant coverage of the subject. An editor could add them to the article or even just plonk them on the talk page, add a note to the AfD saying notability is now established, and merrily move on to the next rescue.
But we aren't operating in an ideal world. All too often an article will be destroyed even once it has sources demonstrating notability, simply because the delete votes outnumber the keeps. Sometimes a platoon of squad members can succeed when a lone member is doomed to fail. Team work has other advantages, it can allow folk to work on the part of the rescue they most enjoy or are best at. Some squad members like MichaleQSchmidt or Fences&Windows are exceptionally good at finding sources, while other such as myself are not so good but enjoy reading sources others find and working out the best way to integrate them into the article.
Sourcing and article improvement, when sufficient squad members act in union they will always succeed in saving an article's life! FeydHuxtable (talk) 14:34, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
