Add topicHello, טבעת-זרם! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. - Yes, indeed welcome! And thanks for your contributions to Bus travel in Israel. I'd like you to look at our external links page, though, so you can get used to the style of external links we use, which is different from the style you used. The style used here is, for example, Egged bus company. We used to use footnote style but no longer do. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:45, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for the welcomes :)
- Any chance to convince for the footnote idea, or should I remove them?
- טבעת-זרם (talk)
- Please use the style shown at external links. If you'd like to argue in favor of reinstating footnotes, you can try at Wikivoyage talk:External links, but I can almost guarantee you will have no success in persuading people. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:31, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
Links to external sites
[edit]Thanks for your contributions, but please be aware that lists of links to other websites is something that we work hard to avoid - see Wikivoyage:External links#What not to link to. If you are listing a hotel then a link to the hotel web site is fine, or if you can add the official tourism link to a city next to the city name in the first sentence of the article, but links to travel guides and business associations should be left off of articles. If you have questions you can ask at Wikivoyage talk:External links or in the Pub, although the previously-referenced external links policy should explain things in detail. -- Ryan • (talk) • 20:24, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Shalom
[edit]I noticed that you are quite active on the English Wikivoyage but I have never seen you make any edits on the Hebrew edition of Wikivoyage. If possible, please help expand the Hebrew Wikivoyage. Unfortunately we don't have many active users there, which is needed to produce enough content to bring more readers and contributors on the long run. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 21:37, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the invitation. I'll keep it in mind. TaBaZzz (talk) 06:30, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
Massive GPS retagging for Israel
[edit]Hi there.
I noticed that you did adjust many of the Israel GPS tags. Could you explain where you got the information from? I noticed that some markers moved only slightly - see Mount Bental - (which really for the sake of your time doesn't add much value), other are now off like the Roman Theater for Tiberias (which was right before) and other are completely way off, like Mount Hermon and Wadi Daliyot. For the latter two, I believe, you missed the description of those listings, yes "Mount Hermon" is a mountain, but the listing was referring to the Ski Resort. Also, "Wadi Daliyot" referred to the nature reserve close to Gamla, not the river itself.
So, what to do now?

- I can only guess, but maybe this happens automatically when linking with Wikipedia and/or Wikidata? Hobbitschuster (talk) 17:42, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- You're correct. I was just connecting WV with Wikidata. Feel Free to UNDO the GPS retagging, if the previous coordinates are more suitable. I had a feeling this is coming, and have already posted a question about it, here: Wikivoyage talk:Cooperating with Wikidata#coordinates ?. TaBaZzz (talk) 07:31, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, but if I correct the coordinates, are they not automatically overwritten with every WD update again? Ceever (talk) 15:10, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- Totally automatic? no. It will not automatically change upon every update in WD. These details are imported from WD only when an editor clicks on "Update shared fields using values from Wikidata". TaBaZzz (talk) 21:12, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
phone numbers
[edit]Hi, maybe you can answer a question for me. In some Israel articles, such as Bus travel in Israel, there are phone numbers with 4 digits and starting with a *. Is this how you actually type in the number on a phone, or just an abbreviation for something longer? Does this work just on Israeli landlines or will it also work with a foreign mobile phone on networks in Israel? --Traveler100 (talk) 07:08, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, you actually type in the number on a phone with the * in the beginning. It works depending on your operator, with most of the numbers supported in landlines, and partial support in cellulars. I'm not aware of a way to reach the * numbers from abroad. Usually when a * number is published, a longer number is mentioned somewhere in the footnotes. TaBaZzz (talk) 13:37, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- thanks that clears up an issue for people. One more request, the Bus travel in Israel article I cannot read the web page for Dan BaDarom, can you find the standard telephone number? --Traveler100 (talk) 06:40, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Sure... It is not on their web site. only on their FB page. the number is +972 8 9172200. Press * after the recorded message. TaBaZzz (talk) 09:51, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Israeli police assistance centre for missing persons
[edit]Hello, as mentioned in Israel#Stay safe, the Israeli police and military recently established an assistance centre for missing persons in view of the current war. They provided an address of that centre (apparently in a building used by the police's Lahav 433 unit), but as it's all Hebrew (and Google translation isn't working that well), can you help and write the address on that cautionbox? Many thanks.廣九直通車 (talk) 13:15, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- Done, and thank you for this request. TaBaZzz (talk) 18:32, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- You're welcome, and wish you stay safe!廣九直通車 (talk) 09:55, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
