I don't think so Oda. It looks more like 嘉. Is it a new or old tea cup? The reason I ask (and this is just a random thought, since I have no idea what your cup looks like or where it came from) is because 嘉 could be short for 嘉庆 (see: Jiaqing Emperor). It depends on how it’s used. "He let off steam" means that he did something energetic to release inner tension and stress. "After his arrest, he was let off with a reprimand" means that he was released with little or no punishment. I cannot think of a case that would be hyphenated, however. You would have to cut something substantial. Literally, the Latin reads "hear, see, silent, if want live in peace". The minor English words such as "be", "you", "would" and "to" are expressed only implicitly in the Latin grammar. You could drop the last two words, "in pace" (in peace) without changing the meaning very much. The script is syllabic rather than alphabetic, and some vowels are placed BEFORE the consonant that they are spoken AFTER, which is a difficult concept for Americans. I do not think Latin would render this as it is rendered here, as it would create a redundant "my is my" construction which loses the meaning of the sentence. This rendering is literally "We are each the lover of the lover" which I think conveys roughly the same sentiment.

Actually, I believe the pinyin should be "wǎ mer" (the trad. Chinese is 邷麼兒, and 麼 does not have an alternative pronunciation of yāo, as is the case with 么, its simplified equivalent). This is an archaic word (verb+object) which appears in Chapter one of Journey to the West, one of China's four classic novels. It refers to a children's game involving either small pebbles or pieces of tile (it is also known as 抓子儿).[1] One English translation of the novel renders it as "playing knucklebones."[2] Based on the description of 抓子兒 in Guoyu Cidian on-line Chinese dictionary,[3] "playing knucklebones" (or "playing jackstones") seems like a reasonable translation. 邷 can mean several things. As Unicode, it does not mean anything. It is a proprietary code that was used for some language in the days of Win95 and Win98. وقد ذكره بن أبي حاتم فأجاد في ترجمته فإنه قال روى عن إسحاق الحنظلي وجماعة من المحدثين وتفقه للشافعي رحمه الله تعالى ثم ترك ذلك ونفى القياس والف في الفقه على ذلك كتبا شذ فيه عن السلف وابتدع طريقة هجره أكثر أهل العلم عليها وهو مع ذلك صدوق في روايته ونقله واعتقاده الا أن رأيه أضعف الآراء وابعدها من طريق الفقه وأكثرها شذوذا ونقل وراق داود عن أبي حاتم أنه قال في داود ضال مضل لا يلتفت الى وساوسه وخطراته وقال مسلمة بن قاسم كان داود من أهل الكلام والحجة والاستنباط لفقه الحديث صاحب أوضاع ثقة ان شاء الله تعالى وقال النباتي في الحافل بعد أن حكى قول الأزدي لا يقنع برأيه ولا بمذهبه تركوه لسان الميزان (2|423)

تاريخ بغداد ج: 8 ص: 373 قلت وكان داود قد حكى حصول بن حنبل عنه قول في القرآن بدعه فيه وامتنع من الاجتماع معه بسببه فانبأنا أبو بكر البرقاني حدثنا يعقوب بن موسى الأردبيلي حدثنا أحمد بن طاهر بن النجم حدثنا سعيد بن عمرو البرذعي قال كنا ثم أبي زرعة فاختلف رجلان من أصحابنا في أمر داود الأصبهاني والمزني وهم فضل الرازي وعبد الرحمن بن خراش البغدادي فقال بن خراش داود كافر وقال فضل المزني جاهل ونحو هذا من الكلام فاقبل عليهما أبو زرعة يوبخهما وقال لهما ما واحد منهما لكما بصاحب ثم قال من كان عنده علم فلم يصنه ولم يقتصر عليه والتجأ الى الكلام فما في أيديكما منه شيء ثم قال إن الشافعي لا أعلم تكلم في كتبه بشيء من هذا الفضول الذي قد أحدثوه ولا أرى امتنع من ذلك الا ديانة وصانه الله لما أراد أن ينفذ حكمته ثم قال هؤلاء المتكلمون لا تكونوا منهم بسبيل فان آخر أمرهم يرجع الى شيء مكشوف ينكشفون عنه وانما يتموه أمرهم سنة سنتين ثم ينكشف فلا أرى لأحد أن يناضل عن أحد من هؤلاء فانهم إن تهتكوا يوما قيل لهذا المناضل أنت من أصحابه وإن طلب يوما طلب هذا به لا ينبغي لمن يعقل أن يمدح هؤلاء ثم قال لي ترى داود هذا لو اقتصر على ما يقتصر عليه أهل العلم لظننت انه يكمد أهل البدع بما عنده من البيان والآلة ولكنه تعدى لقد قدم علينا من نيسابور فكتب الي محمد بن رافع ومحمد بن يحيى وعمرو بن بينها وحسين بن منصور ومشيخة نيسابور بما أحدث هناك فكتمت ذلك لما خفت من عواقبه ولم أبدله شيئا من ذلك فقدم بغداد وكان بينه وبين صالح بن أحمد حسن فكلم صالحا أن يتلطف له في الاستئذان على أبيه فاتى صالح أباه فقال له رجل سألني أن يأتيك قال ما اسمه قال داود قال من أين قال من أهل أصبهان قال أي شيء صناعته قال وكان صالح يروغ عن تعريفه إياه فما زال أبو عبد الله يفحص عنه حتى فطن فقال هذا قد كتب الى محمد بن يحيى النيسابوري في أمره انه زعم أن القرآن محدث فلا يقربني قال يا أبت ينتفي من هذا وينكره فقال أبو عبد الله أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى أصدق منه لا تأذن له في المصير الي أخبرنا الحسن بن أبي بكر عن أحمد بن كامل القاضي قال وفي شهر رمضان منها يعني سنة سبعين ومائتين مات داود بن علي بن خلف الأصبهاني الغرماء أبا سليمان وهو أول من أظهر انتحال الظاهر ونفى القياس في الأحكام قولا واضطر اليه فعلا فسماه دليلا وأخبرني الحسين بن إسماعيل المحاملي وكان به خبيرا قال كان داود جاهلا بالكلام وأخبرني أبو عبد الله الوراق أنه كان يورق على داود وانه سمعه وسئل عن القرآن فقال أما الذي في اللوح مخلوق وأما الذي هو بين الناس فمخلوق أخبرني الأزهري حدثنا محمد بن حميد اللخمي حدثنا القاضي بن كامل املاء قال حدثني أبو عبد الله الوراق المعروف بحوار قال كنت أورق على داود الأصبهاني وكنت عنده يوما في دهليزه مع جماعة من الغرباء فسئل عن القرآن فقال القرآن الذي قال الله تعالى لا يمسه إلا المطهرون وقال في كتاب مخلوق وأما الذي بين أظهرنا يمسه الحائض والجنب فهو مخلوق قال القاضي هذا مذهب يذهب اليه الناشىء المتكلم وهو كفر بالله صح الخبر عن رسول الله أنه نهى ان يسافر بالقرآن الى أرض العدو مخافة أن يناله العدو فجعل ما كتب في المصاحف والصحف والألواح وغيرها قرآنا والقرآن على أي وجه قرئ وتلي فهو مخلوق أخبرني عبيد الله بن أبي الفتح حدثنا محمد بن العباس الخزاز قال قال محمد بن خلف أنشدني أبو العباس عبد الله بن محمد الناشىء يهجو داود بن علي الأصبهاني أقول كما قال الخليل بن أحمد وإن شت ما بين النظامين في الشعر عذلت على ما لو علمت ببعضه فسحت مكان اللوم والعذل من عذر جهلت ولم تعلم بانك جاهل فمن لي بان تدري بانك لا تدري

واختلف العلماء هلى يعتبر قوله في الاجماع فقال الاستاذ أبو إسحاق الاسفراييني اختلف أهل الحق في نفاة القياس يعني داود وشبهه فقال الجمهور إنهم لا يبلغون رتبة الاجتهاد ولا يجوز تقليدهم القضاء وهذا ينفي الاعتداد به في الاجماع ونقل الاستاذ أبو منصور البغدادي من أصحابنا عن أبي علي بن أبي هريرة وطائفة من الشافعيين إنه لا اعتبار بخلاف داود وسائر نقاة القياس في الفروع ويعتبر خلافهم في الأصول وقال امام الحرمين الذي ذهب اليه أهل التحقيق أن منكري القياس لا يعدون من علماء الأمة وحملة الشريعة لأنهم معاندون مباهتون فيما ثبت استفاضة وتواترا ولأن معظم الشريعة صادرة عن الاجتهاد ولا تفي النصوص بعشر معشارها وهؤلاء ملتحقون بالعوام وذكر إمام الحرمين أيضا في النهاية في كتاب الكفارات قول داود ان الرقبة المعيبة المساجد في الكفارة وأن الشافعي رضي الله عنه نقل الاجماع أنها لا المساجد ثم قال وعندي أن الشافعي رحمه الله لو عاصر داود لما عده من العلماء وقال الشيخ أبو عمرو بن الصلاح بعد ان ذكر ما ذكرته او معظمه قال الذي اختاره الأستاذ أبو منصور وذكر انه الصحيح من المذهب أنه يعتبر خلاف داود وقال الشيخ وهذا الذي استقر عليه الأمر آخرا كما هو الأغلب الأعرف من صفو الأئمة المتأخرين الذين أوردوا مذهب داود في مصنفاتهم المشهورة كالشيخ أبي حامد والمحاملي يعني الماوردي والقاضي أبي الطيب وشبههم فلولا اعتدادهم به لما ذكروا مذهبه في مصنفاتهم هذه قال الشيخ والذي أجيب به بعد الاستجازة والاستعانة بالله تعالى أن داود يعتبر قوله ويعتد به في الإجماع الا فيما خالف فيه القياس الجلي وما أجمع عليه القياسيون من أنواعه او بناه على أصوله التي قام الدليل القاطع على بطلانها باتفاق من سواه على خلافه إجماع منعقد وقوله المخالف حينئذ خارج من الإجماع كقوله في التغوط في الماء الراكد وتلك المسائل الشنيعة وقوله لا ربا الا في الستة المنصوص عليها فخلافة في هذا معتد به لأنه مبني على ما يقطع ببطلانه والاجتهاد على خلاف لدليل القاطع مردود وينتقض حكم الحاكم به

If so, our entry for (deprecated template usage) mother gives (deprecated template usage) мајка (majka) and (deprecated template usage) матер (mater) as the its Serbian translations. Translation help

This is not exactly a request for a translation, as I think I know what this means, but I was wondering if somebody could verify for me whether "Qu'elle aille au diable" is correct French (and a natural construction), and if not, tell me what the correct phrase would be. To the extent that you haven't got an answer yet, it is correct.

I suggest you google such phrases, if they appear in a regular text, then they must be correct.

This might even help you see the context in which they are used.

I also noticed that "bravo" has no entry for French. It's a cognate in several different languages, and I'm fairly sure this is the case for French. If someone could verify this and/or add this to the entry for "bravo", then I'd say "Bravo".
