fatHa (plural fatHas)

  1. In Arabic script, the vowel point for a, appearing as a diagonal line placed above a letter and designating a short /a/.
    Example: Template:Arab /da/.
    If the Arabic letters Template:Arab (ʾalif) or Template:Arab (ʾalif maqṣūra) immediately follow, it indicates a long /ā/.
    Example: Template:Arab or Template:Arab /dā/ [daː].
