[edit]According to the prescribed standard Cebuano orthography created by Bisaya magazine, since adapted by Department of Education Region VII and the Komisyon Probinsyal sa Sinugbuanong Dila (Provincial Commission on the Cebuano Language), unadapted borrowings (direktang paghulam) in Cebuano should be written in italics. In practice, this prescription is not always followed.
