Cognates with Pangasinan ibeg (“covet, desire, fall in love with”), Kapampangan ibug (“corporal desires; appetite”), Cebuano ibog (“attracted, craving for”), Tboli iwol (“saliva, drool over, desire”), Tausug ibug (“envy”), Malagasy ivy (“saliva”), and Tongan ifo (“saliva, tasty”).
