Irish
[edit]Determiner
[edit]n-a
- Alternative form of a (“his, her, their”)
Particle
[edit]n-a
- Alternative form of a (relative particle)
Usage notes
[edit]For both the determiner and the particle, this form is found in older texts after certain vowel-final prepositions, e.g. faoi n-a (“under/about his, under/about her, under/about their, under/about which”), i n-a (“in his, in her, in their, in which”), le n-a (“with his, with her, with their, with which”), ó n-a (“from his, from her, from their, from which”). In modern texts these forms are written as single words: faoina, ina, lena, óna.
