  • This term is often used of a ground floor which contains storage rooms, garages and other facilities. Its symbol is usually the capital letter "P". If there are several such floors they may be numbered as "P1", "P2" etc. The first "ordinary" floor with apartments or offices is then called ensimmäinen kerros (first floor). If also the ground floor consists of apartments or offices, it is called ensimmäinen kerros. In such case the facilities are often under ground level in the basement (kellari).
