[edit]From Middle Dutch seiken, from Old Dutch *seiken, from Proto-West Germanic *saikijan, from Proto-Germanic *saikijaną. Cognate with archaic German seichen (“to piss”) and regional German sicken (“to piss”), sickig (“annoyed”).
