Usually the phrase is used with "couldn't"/"could not". For example: if you think your teacher is the best, "I couldn't ask for a better teacher."

He/she asks is only used for a 3rd person singular subject with a simple present affirmative (not negative) statement.

For your sentence, it will always be "ask" no matter who the subject is.

Don’t ask me why = don't ask me about this specific thing because I don't want to talk about it

Last one should be “I asked if she spoke English”

A: -If I ask you for your permission to go to my friends house and you say "no", I can't go, because I asked for your permission and you didn't let/allow me.
-opinion is just 'your thoughts' on what I tell you. or your thoughts about anything
example. "Hey dad, I might go to my friends house to hang out"
Dad: "hmm it's raining outside I don't 'think' you should go"
"it's okay he's picking me up in his car, I'll be home before dinner, bye".
The dads opinion is that he shouldn't go or he thinks he shouldn't go. But there is no force stopping me from leaving

Apart from this, the sentence is perfect.
