Is it natural sentence? My English teacher said that I should better change but to and, or remove but.
A:
I'd say "but" is better than "and" in this case.
Dropping "but" and not replacing it with anything else wouldn't work. It makes the sentences feel awkward.
Alternatively, you can replace it with "though".

¿Esto suena natural? I like to play the drums. When I was 15 years old, I started playing the drums. Firstly, I practiced 8 beat. It is known as a basic rhythm. However, I could not do this well. Therefore, I asked my friends how to play it, and I mastered 8 beat finally. After that, I learned some drums fills and copied some songs. It passed 1 year, I tried to cover ONE OK ROCK’s song. Their drummer is known as a grate drummer in Japan. At that time, covering their music was very hard for me. I spent about 3 months to cover a song. I spent much time to cover the song, but I learned many things from their music. So, I believe that it was good experience for me to cover their music.

¿Esto suena natural? I play the drums. When I was 15 years old, I started playing the drums. The reason I chose it was that it looked easy to play. However, playing the drums was not easy. After I enrolled in a high school, I joined a music activity. I got a band, and I played the drums. I practiced it much time to play it well. We always played rock musics. When I played the drums, I always did mimikopi which is just listing to a music and make a tab by myself. It was really hard when I started it, but thank to learn it, I did not need to spend money to buy tabs. Also, I believe that I could improve my playing skill. Playing the drums when I was high school is my good memory, and I want to enjoy playing the drums in the feature too!!
A:
@hibiki52 You should change “enrolled in a high school” to “enrolled in high school”, and instead of “music activity” use “music group” or use a more specific word like “music class”. You should probably also change “I got a band” to “I joined a band”. I hope this helps some!
