Discovered in 2009, Begonia pteridiformis is a fern-like begonia native to peninsular Thailand, found in wet limestone regions of evergreen forest. It grows to about 20cm tall, likes shade/partial shade and high humidity, and is suitable for terrariums with sufficient air movement. It grows best in a very loose and airy substrate or mounted on wood, treefern, or porous rock. It is a tuberous variety that goes through a dormant period of about 4 weeks.
